Korean media recently reported that BTS member Suga is under investigation by the Yongsan Police Station for allegedly breaking traffic laws related to drunk driving on an electric scooter. In South Korea, electric kickboards, also known as electric scooters, can only be rented and ridden with a valid license due to safety concerns. These scooters are subject to strict traffic regulations similar to those governing cars.

On the night of August 6, 2024, Suga was found lying on the street by himself after allegedly riding the electric scooter while intoxicated. A nearby patrol officer noticed the smell of alcohol on him and subsequently escorted him to the police station for further investigation.
