The story follows Ryusei Narukami, a NEET who lives alone playing video games. He keeps a big secret: in another world, he was the Demon King. One day, a high school girl named Meteor Hanaori shows up at his apartment. She turns out to be the reincarnation of the hero who defeated him in their past life.

Things get complicated when Ryusei gets a job as a teacher at Meteorโ€™s high school. The series mixes fantasy elements with everyday school life, as two former enemies try to figure out their new relationship in a peaceful world.
