The second season of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder dropped on Netflix on May 27, 2026, bringing fans back to the troubled town of Little Kilton. Emma Myers returns as Pip Fitz-Amobi, the teenage detective who swore she was done solving mysteries. But when her friend Jamie Reynolds goes missing right before he is set to testify in the Max Hastings trial, Pip gets pulled back into a dark world of secrets. The season, based on Holly Jackson’s book Good Girl, Bad Blood, takes a much darker turn than the first. By the finale, Pip watches a man get killed in front of her, and someone new is watching her every move.

Max Hastings Walks Free While Jamie Gets Found in a Basement

The season runs two major storylines at the same time. One follows the disappearance of Jamie Reynolds (Eden H. Davis), brother of Pip’s close friend Connor. The other follows the trial of Max Hastings (Henry Ashton), the wealthy student who dgged and asulted multiple girls at parties . Jamie was supposed to be a key witness against Max. When he vanishes, Pip first thinks Max kidnapped him to stop him from talking.

But the truth is much more complicated. Jamie had been talking to a woman named Layla Mead on a dating app. She asked him for money and later told him to find a man called “Child Brunswick.” When Jamie called a man named Stanley Forbes by that name, Stanley panicked and locked Jamie in his basement . Stanley was not a bad person. As a child, his father—a serial k*ller—forced him to help lure other children. One of those children was the sister of Charlie Green, Pip’s new neighbor . Stanley spent years in hiding with a new identity. He just wanted to live a normal life. But Charlie wanted revenge.

Charlie Green’s Deadly Plan and Stanley’s Final Moments

Charlie Green (Jack Rowan), along with his pregnant wife Flora, created the fake Layla Mead profile. They spent years moving from town to town, following rumors about where Child Brunswick was hiding . Charlie used Jamie to get to Stanley. When Stanley took Jamie, Charlie waited. He knew Pip would eventually find Stanley for him.

In the season’s final episode, Pip and Cara confront Stanley at an abandoned building. Stanley explains that he never wanted to hurt Jamie. The two even became friends while Jamie stayed in the basement. But before Pip can figure out what to do, Charlie shows up with a gun. He tells Pip that his sister Emily was one of Stanley’s father’s victims. Stanley picked her out of the group of children at the park that day. Charlie does not care that Stanley was also a child who was scared of his own father. He pulls the trigger again and again until the gun runs dry . Pip tries to save Stanley. She gives him CPR and drags him out of the burning building. But he dies in her arms. His last words are his real name: Jack . Charlie and Flora run away before the police arrive.

Max’s Shocking Not Guilty Verdict Breaks Pip

The trial of Max Hastings ends in the worst possible way. The jury finds him not guilty on all charges. Even though Becca Bell and Nat Da Silva (Woman A) testified against him, Max’s lawyers destroyed their stories. Max also blames everything on his dead friend Sal Singh at the last minute . The result leaves Pip completely broken. She watched a man get murdered. She watched a r*pist walk free. The justice system failed her twice.

But Pip does not stay quiet. After the trial, she releases a secret recording of Max confessing to his crimes on her podcast. She also goes to his house, breaks a window, and paints the word “R*pist” on his front door in red . It is small revenge. It does not bring back Stanley or fix what Max did. But it shows that Pip has changed. She is no longer the “good girl” who follows the rules. She is now willing to break the law to get justice.

A New Threat Hides in Pip’s Bedroom

The season ends with a terrifying moment. Pip comes home to find her bedroom window open. Papers are scattered on the floor. Her laptop screen glows with a single message repeated over and over:

“Who will look for you when you’re the one that disappears?”

Someone has been watching her. Someone broke into her house while she was gone. Throughout the season, Pip got threatening messages that she ignored. She thought it was Max or someone connected to Jamie’s case. But now she knows the truth. There is a new stalker in Little Kilton, and this person wants to make Pip disappear.

This ending sets up a third season based on the final book in Jackson’s trilogy, As Good As Dead. Pip will have to find her stalker before the stalker finds her. But this time, she is not the same person. She has PTSD from watching Stanley die. She has lost faith in the police and the courts. And she has already proven she is willing to take matters into her own hands . The next chapter will likely be a dark game of cat and mouse.
