The long wait for the Looney Tunes courtroom comedy Coyote vs. Acme just got a lot more interesting. A fresh teaser for the film dropped on June 1, 2026, and it does two big things. First, it confirms that Bugs Bunny is officially back on the big screen. Second, it takes a clever shot at how Marvel has been teasing its upcoming movie Avengers: Doomsday.

The short clip ends with a joke that Marvel fans will immediately get. The credits read: “Bugs Bunny will return in Avengers: Doomsday”. This is a direct parody of the Marvel teasers that list which superheroes will appear in the next team-up movie. It is a funny way for the Coyote vs. Acme team to say that their cartoon hero is just as important as any Avenger.

The Teaser That Tricks Marvel Fans

The timing of the teaser was perfect. Many fans online thought they were getting a new trailer for Avengers: Doomsday when the video first appeared. Instead, viewers got Wile E. Coyote talking about corporate secrets. The video shows Lana Condor’s character, Paige Avery, listening to a recording where the Coyote says Acme has “eyes and ears everywhere”.

The video then builds up to a mystery figure hiding in the shadows. The character speaks with a very familiar voice: “So uh, what is up, doc?”. That is when the camera reveals Bugs Bunny standing there. It is a classic reveal that turns the serious Marvel style into pure Looney Tunes chaos.

Why This Movie Almost Did Not Happen

Coyote vs. Acme has a wild backstory. Warner Bros. finished making the movie in 2023. Then, the studio decided to shelve it completely to take a $30 million tax write-off. This angered fans and Hollywood insiders. The director, Dave Green, and the cast spoke out against the decision.

After a strong backlash, Warner Bros. allowed the filmmakers to sell the movie to another studio. Ketchup Entertainment picked up the film for around $50 million. Now, the movie that the studio wanted to throw away is getting a wide theatrical release. The plot of the film matches its real-life journey. The Coyote is suing a big corporation that sold him bad products. In real life, the film survived a big corporation trying to erase it.

Who Is in the Cast and When Does It Release

Coyote vs. Acme mixes real actors with hand-drawn 2D animation. Will Forte plays Kevin Avery, a struggling lawyer who takes the Coyote’s case. John Cena stars as Buddy Crane, the slick lawyer defending Acme. Lana Condor also stars as Paige Avery.

On the voice side, Eric Bauza voices several classic characters. Jeff Bergman returns as the voice of Bugs Bunny. Fans will also see Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tweety, and the Road Runner.

The movie will hit theaters on August 28, 2026. It will release in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and India on the same weekend. Streaming details are not available yet, but the main release is in cinemas.

Fans React to the Bugs Bunny Surprise

Social media lit up after the teaser dropped. Viewers loved the joke about Avengers: Doomsday. One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, “Forget Avengers Doomsday, this is the real cameo fest we been waiting for”. Another fan joked that they have a “moral responsibility to see this movie” after the studio tried to cancel it.

People are also excited to see hand-drawn animation again. Multiple comments praised the film for using traditional 2D art instead of CGI. The teaser has already gathered millions of views across social media platforms.
