The final season of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is almost here, and fans are getting mixed signals about how many episodes Cour 4 will actually have. Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Cour 4, officially titled The Calamity, is set to premiere on July 25, 2026, but the episode count remains one of the biggest talking points in the anime community.

Some reports say the final cour will have 13 episodes, while others claim it will only have 10 episodes. Neither number has been officially confirmed by Studio Pierrot or Viz Media, leaving fans guessing about how much story is left to tell.

Conflicting Reports About the Final Season Episode Count

The confusion started when a social media post claimed that Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Cour 4 would have just 10 episodes. Leaker Sugoi LITE posted on X that the final part is listed for only 10 episodes in total. This information supposedly came from database listings, but no official source has backed up this claim.

On the other hand, data from the Japanese TV Guide database suggests that Cour 4 will have 13 episodes, just like the first two parts. This would bring the total episode count for the entire Thousand-Year Blood War adaptation to 53 episodes.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War originally planned for 52 episodes across four cours. Part 1 had 13 episodes, Part 2 had 13 episodes, and Part 3 had 14 episodes. A 13-episode final cour would make sense and keep things consistent.

What the Episode Count Means for the Story

The remaining manga chapters to adapt are about 24 chapters, which would normally take only 3 to 4 episodes to cover. This means if Cour 4 has 13 episodes, about half of the season will be anime-original content not seen in the manga.

Tite Kubo, the creator of Bleach, has promised that the final episodes will include original content that was never in the manga. This is exciting news for fans who felt the manga ending in 2016 was rushed.

Some of the additional scenes that could appear include Uryu Ishida’s backstory, Sosuke Aizen’s past, more moments with the Arrancars, and extended fight scenes.

Official Release Date and Streaming Details

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 4 – The Calamity officially premieres on July 25, 2026. New episodes will drop weekly at 7:30 AM PT.

For viewers in the United States, the series will stream on Hulu. International fans can watch on Disney+. In Japan, Prime Video will continue broadcasting the anime.

Special Theatrical Screenings Already Happened

Before the TV premiere, the first three episodes of The Calamity were shown in select theaters across North America from June 25 to June 29, 2026. These screenings included both subtitled and English-dubbed versions. The theatrical run reportedly pulled in millions at the box office.

New Director and Production Team

Cour 4 is being directed by Hikaru Murata under Studio Pierrot Films. This marks a change in directorial credit from earlier cours, though the production studio remains the same. Tomohisa Taguchi, who directed all four cours as chief director, is also returning.

Opening and Ending Theme Songs Revealed

The final season will feature new music selected personally by Tite Kubo. The opening theme is “I-BULL” performed by jo0ji. The ending theme is “Rasen” (meaning Spiral) performed by 9Lana. Kubo reviewed and chose the songs himself from the demo stage.

What Fans Are Saying

The uncertainty around the episode count has created a lot of discussion online. Many fans are hoping for 13 episodes so there is enough room to properly conclude the story. Some are worried that 10 episodes might not be enough to give the series the ending it deserves.

Since no official confirmation has come from Studio Pierrot, Viz Media, or any verified Bleach page, fans will have to wait and see. The safest thing to know right now is that the only official figure ever given was that the whole story would be 52 episodes long.

What to Expect From The Calamity

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 4 – The Calamity adapts the final chapters of Tite Kubo’s original manga. Ichigo Kurosaki faces Yhwach for one final battle, and the fate of every realm depends on the outcome. All the other fights against the Quincies will also come to an end.

The series originally ran from 2001 to 2016 and became one of the best-selling manga of all time, with over 130 million copies sold worldwide. The Thousand-Year Blood War revival brought the franchise back and introduced a new generation to Ichigo’s journey.

With the premiere just days away, fans will finally see how this legendary story ends. Whether Cour 4 has 10 or 13 episodes, one thing is certain – the battle against Yhwach is reaching its climax, and the conclusion of Bleach is almost here.
