The popular music game show Beat Shazam is returning for its eighth season on Fox this summer. After a delay that pushed back its original mid-2025 premiere, the show is set to air with new episodes starting July 28, 2026. This season marks a major achievement for the series as it celebrates its 100th episode milestone.
Hosted by Jamie Foxx alongside his daughter Corinne Foxx as the DJ, the show pits teams of two against each other and the clock. Contestants must identify hit songs faster than the Shazam app to win cash prizes. Over its run, the game show has awarded more than $10 million in total winnings.
Season 8 Premiere Date and Time
Beat Shazam Season 8 debuts on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 9:00 PM ET/PT on Fox. The show runs for one hour and will air weekly on Tuesdays throughout the season.
The premiere follows the time period premiere of Kitchen Nightmares, which airs at 8:00 PM ET/PT on the same night. Fox announced these summer premiere dates in a June 1 press release.
Where to Watch Beat Shazam Season 8
Viewers can watch Beat Shazam Season 8 live on Fox when it airs on Tuesday nights. For those who prefer streaming, the season will be available on Hulu starting July 29, 2026, the day after the premiere. This allows fans to catch up on episodes they missed or rewatch their favorite moments.
Themed Episodes and 100th Episode Celebration
Season 8 is a special one for Beat Shazam. The show will reach its 100th episode during this season. To mark this achievement, the production team has planned special themed episodes throughout the season.
These themed episodes will feature different groups of contestants competing against each other. The lineup includes:
- Ladies Night – teams of women competing
- NFL Fans – teams of football enthusiasts
- Heroes – teams of everyday heroes
- College Students – teams from universities
- Teachers – teams of educators
- Best Friends – teams of close friends
- Couples – romantic partners competing together
Each themed episode brings a unique energy to the competition as different types of teams battle it out for the grand prize.
How the Game Works
Beat Shazam features three teams of two players standing behind podiums. The teams compete to identify songs correctly and bank money in four different rounds.
The team with the highest score at the end of the rounds moves on to face the Shazam app in a head-to-head challenge. In this final round, contestants must name up to six songs without any multiple-choice options before the app identifies them. If they successfully name all six songs, they walk away with $1 million.
The Hosts: Jamie Foxx and Corinne Foxx
Jamie Foxx returns as the host of Beat Shazam for Season 8. He also serves as an executive producer on the show. His daughter, Corinne Foxx, returns as the co-host and DJ, playing the songs for the contestants.
When Foxx was hospitalized in 2023, Nick Cannon stepped in as guest host for Season 6, with Kelly Osbourne taking over DJ duties. However, both Jamie and Corinne Foxx are back in their regular roles for Season 8.
Episode Release Schedule
While the full episode list with specific titles has not been released yet, Beat Shazam Season 8 will follow a weekly release pattern. New episodes air every Tuesday at 9:00 PM ET/PT on Fox.
The season is expected to feature multiple episodes, continuing the show’s tradition of summer runs from May through September. Previous seasons have typically consisted of around 10 to 14 episodes.
What to Expect from Season 8
Season 8 brings the same high-energy music competition that fans have enjoyed since the show premiered in 2017. The show features songs from the Billboard Hot 100, testing contestants’ knowledge of popular music across different eras.
The themed episodes add a fresh twist to the competition. Having NFL fans, teachers, college students, and other specific groups compete against each other creates interesting matchups and diverse contestant backgrounds.
The 100th episode celebration is a significant moment for the series. Reaching this milestone shows the show’s lasting popularity since it first aired.
