What Happens in Black Torch So Far?

The story centers on Jiro Azuma, a teenager raised by his grandfather in the ways of the shinobi. He has the unusual ability to talk to animals. One day, he finds an injured black cat in the forest and nurses it back to health. The cat reveals himself as Rago, the legendary “Black Star of Doom” – an immortal mononoke that other spirits are hunting for his powers.

Rago decides to merge his power with Jiro, and the two become beings who share one body. This forces Jiro into a hidden war between humans and mononoke. He joins the Bureau of Espionage, a secret organization of agents who fight supernatural creatures.

The first four episodes have introduced key characters, including Ichika Kishimojin (voiced by Sayaka Sembongi), a fellow agent, and Reiji Kirihara (voiced by Junya Enoki). The series has also shown Jiro and Rago facing their first real mission together.
