When first responders arrived at the scene, they found Panettiere unresponsive and in cardiac arrest. Emergency medical personnel administered advanced cardiac life support measures, but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.

Dispatch audio obtained by media outlets reportedly included references to a possible “overdose” and cardiac arrest. Additionally, reports indicate that Narcan – a medication used to reverse opioid overdoses – was found at the scene. However, officials have not confirmed that an overdose caused Panettiere’s death, and the presence of Narcan does not establish a cause of death.
