Landman is officially back in production. James Jordan, who plays Dale Bradley on the Paramount+ series, confirmed that filming for Season 3 began on September 24, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas. The actor shared a set photo on Instagram with the caption, “Up n runnin’ and back after it!” The new season will run for 10 episodes and is not expected to premiere until 2027.
Season 3 Filming Finally Begins
Filming for Landman Season 3 started on September 24, 2026, according to social media posts from multiple cast members. James Jordan posted a photo from the set, while Mustafa Speaks, who plays Boss, shared a similar image of his trailer and hard hat with the caption “Back to Business”. Tanner Beard, who plays Marty, also posted a photo of a Landman Season 3 branded chair on set with the words “Back in action”.
The production was originally scheduled to begin in May 2026. It was pushed to August and then delayed again to September. James Jordan told the Star-Telegram that the plan was to start “just after Labor Day”. The delays were caused by several factors, including Billy Bob Thornton’s prior commitments, Taylor Sheridan’s busy workload across multiple shows, and the extreme Texas summer heat.
Landman is primarily filmed in and around Fort Worth, including downtown, at the Stockyards, and in the AllianceTexas area. The show has become a local production hub in North Texas. Legacy Casting posted casting calls for extras for scenes filming in Fort Worth and Haslet in late September 2026, including roles for a “Latino oil thief,” “midstream oil workers,” “oil services office workers,” and “neighbors”.
James Jordan Confirms Filming Schedule
James Jordan has been the main source of updates on Landman Season 3. He told Us Weekly in July 2026 that he had already received the script for the new season.
“I’ve got the season 3 script. It was sent to me right in this phone. I will guard it with my life. But I snuck a quick peek. I really have to read it later, but it’s going to be amazing.”
The actor also confirmed that Stephen Kay will return as director. “I believe we’re bringing back the same director, Stephen Kay, who I adore,” Jordan said. “So, it’s going to be a great ride. We start that sometime in September and we’ll shoot that through the first quarter of next year.”
Jordan described the new episodes as “10 crazy, wonderful, funny and wild episodes – just like season 1 and season 2 have been.” He also said the cast is ready to get back to work.
“Billy Bob and everybody, we’re all ready to get back to work.”
Season 3 Story And New Cast
Landman Season 3 will follow the events of the Season 2 finale, which aired on January 18, 2026. Tommy Norris, played by Billy Bob Thornton, was fired from M-Tex Oil by Cami Miller, played by Demi Moore. He then decided to start his own company called CTT Oil Exploration and Cattle, named after the three generations of Norris men: Tommy, his son Cooper, played by Jacob Lofland, and his father T.L., played by Sam Elliott.
The new company brings several familiar characters into Tommy’s orbit. Cooper becomes president, Nate, played by Colm Feore, takes the treasurer position, and Rebecca, played by Kayla Wallace, signs on as COO and chief counsel. Dale, Boss, Ariana, played by Paulina Chávez, and T.L. are also part of the operation. Tommy also struck a risky partnership with cartel boss Gallino, played by Andy Garcia, who provided financial backing for the new company.
Michael Kelly joins the cast as a series regular in Season 3. The Emmy-nominated actor, known for House of Cards, The Penguin, and Lioness, will play William Crockett, the leader of the largest oil management firm in the world. His character is described as a titan of industry who exudes efficiency and money. The addition was announced by Paramount+ on September 9, 2026.

Several cast members received significant pay raises for the new season. Demi Moore negotiated a new deal that brings her to parity with Billy Bob Thornton. Both stars will earn between $740,000 and $770,000 per episode. Ali Larter more than doubled her previous salary to more than $350,000 per episode and also secured a talent deal. Jacob Lofland and Michelle Randolph are set to earn between $130,000 and $180,000 per episode.

Release Window And Streaming
Paramount+ has not announced an official premiere date for Landman Season 3. The filming schedule, which runs from September 2026 through the first quarter of 2027, means the new season will not arrive in 2026. The earliest realistic release window is 2027.
Landman has historically had a quick turnaround between seasons. Season 1 premiered on November 17, 2024, and Season 2 premiered on November 16, 2025. The second season concluded on January 18, 2026. The gap between Season 2 and Season 3 will be longer than the previous waits.
James Jordan expressed hope that the show could still return before the end of 2026 because of how quickly the editing process works.
“The way they edit nowadays, the turnaround is so quick. We might be on the air before the end of the year. I certainly hope so. That little holiday window that we’ve had the last two seasons around Thanksgiving through the end of the year, I think that’s just such a perfect window for Landman.”
The production timeline makes a 2026 premiere impossible. Even with minimal visual effects and quick post-production, the show will not be ready until 2027 at the earliest. Paramount+ head of originals Jane Wiseman has confirmed that Taylor Sheridan is actively writing the season and that “we have more Landman coming”.
Both seasons of Landman are currently streaming on Paramount+. For viewers outside the United States, Landman is available on Paramount+ in Canada, the UK, Australia, and other international markets where the platform operates. In India, Landman streams on JioHotstar. Season 3 will arrive on Paramount+ once production is completed.
