BTS’ V has achieved a significant milestone in his solo career, becoming the first K-pop artist to chart three songs on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2024. His latest track, “White Christmas,” a collaboration with the legendary Bing Crosby, secured the No. 93 spot on the chart.
On December 17, 2024, the Billboard Hot 100 chart positions were announced, highlighting BTS’ V‘s new entry with “White Christmas.” This success marks his third song on the chart this year, following “FRI(END)S” and “Winter Ahead.”
V, whose real name is Kim Taehyung, has now charted six solo entries on the Billboard Hot 100. His previous entries include “Christmas Tree” (peaking at No. 79), “Love Me Again” (No. 96), “Slow Dancing” (No. 51), “FRI(END)S” (No. 65), and “Winter Ahead” (No. 99).
“White Christmas” is a reimagined version of the classic holiday tune, featuring V‘s vocals alongside Bing Crosby. The accompanying music video is an animated tribute, showcasing Bing Crosby with V‘s beloved pet dog, Yeotan, adding a special touch to the video as it was recently revealed that Yeotan had passed away.
V made his initial mark as part of the global sensation BTS, debuting alongside members RM, J-Hope, Jimin, Jungkook, Jin, and Suga. His solo journey began in 2023 with the album Layover, which included the hit single “Slow Dancing” and pre-release tracks “Love Me Again” and “Rainy Days.”
Additionally, V has expanded his artistic presence by starring in IU‘s music video for “Love Wins All” as her romantic counterpart. His solo endeavors continued with the release of the English digital single “FRI(END)S,” which has since amassed over 200 million streams on Spotify. His latest collaboration, “Winter Ahead” with Park Hyo Shin, was released on December 3, 2024.
