Later, during a press conference by Ui-yong, Hyuk-jin plays a recording of Do-jae’s story. The police then arrest Kyu-jin, a plan orchestrated by Sa-eon due to the inability to obtain a search warrant earlier.

Sa-eon reveals this evidence came from Chairman Baek Jang-ho’s ring, which he had returned to the Chairman while he was hospitalized. It is revealed that Kyu-jin visited Jang-ho seeking an apology for him killing her son and replacing him with his own. Kyu-jin then killed him.
Sa-eon questions Kyu-jin about Hee-joo’s whereabouts. Kyu-jin questions why she would keep Hee-joo alive. Hee-joo tells them that the real Sa-eon is around and is armed as well. While leaving, the real Sa-eon shows up in front of their car, and Sa-eon goes to talk to him.
