Adam Levine, the lead singer of Maroon 5, has announced he is done getting tattoos after years of collecting body art. The 46-year-old musician, known for his many tattoos, says the pain has become too much for him to handle.

Levine recently refreshed his left arm sleeve but found the process extremely painful. He joked about his decision to cover an existing tattoo with a new design, calling himself “psychotic” for doing so.

“I covered up my sleeve with another sleeve. Who does that? What is wrong with me? Psychotic,” Levine said.

The singer admitted that while he still enjoys the idea of tattoos, the physical pain is no longer worth it.

“Now, I’ve softened. Now, when I get a tattoo, I’m like, ‘This hurts so badly.’ Like, ‘What’s wrong?’ We’re done.”

Adam Levine’s Tattoo Journey Over the Years

Levine got his first tattoo at 21, a dove on his upper right arm, just five days after the 9/11 attacks. He said he wanted something peaceful on his body during a difficult time. Since then, he has collected over 30 tattoos, including designs on his arms, chest, back, and hands.

One of his most noticeable tattoos is the phrase “TRUE LOVE” spelled across his fingers. He also has a large siren on his back, a butterfly on his neck, and the word “California” on his midsection.

Despite loving his tattoos, Levine says he is running out of space for new ones. He has also promised never to get ink on his face.

Why Adam Levine Is Stopping Now

Levine explained that his latest tattoo session was particularly painful, making him realize he no longer wants to endure the discomfort. He also mentioned that age has changed his perspective.

“It really hurt. I’m kind of done with the pain, I’ve decided.”

Another reason is the lack of available space on his body. With most areas already inked, Levine sees no point in continuing.

His Favorite Tattoos

When asked about his favorite tattoo, Levine struggled to pick just one.

“No, there’s too many. It’s too overwhelming.”

However, he later mentioned that he especially likes the “TRUE LOVE” tattoos on his hands.

What’s Next for Adam Levine

While his tattoo days may be over, Levine is focusing on music. Maroon 5 is set to release their new album, “Love Is Like,” on August 15. The band will also go on tour later this year.

Levine has also returned as a coach on “The Voice” after a break, saying the timing felt right.

Fan Reactions

Fans have mixed reactions to Levine’s decision. Some support him, saying tattoos are painful, while others hope he might change his mind in the future.

“Respect for knowing your limits! Tattoos hurt more as you get older.”

“No more tattoos? But they’re such a big part of his look!”
