The thirty-seventh season of The Simpsons is now airing, bringing more adventures from America’s longest-running animated family. The new season premiered on September 28, 2025, on Fox, and continues the show’s record-breaking run with a mix of broadcast episodes and special Disney+ exclusives.
Season 37 Premiere and Episode Guide
The Simpsons Season 37 started on Sunday, September 28, 2025, with new episodes airing at 8 PM ET/PT on Fox as part of the network’s Animation Domination Sunday night lineup. The season will run through Spring 2026.
The first episode, titled “Thrifty Ways to Thieve Your Mother,” saw Lisa Simpson getting welcomed into her school’s elite fashion club after she begins wearing Marge’s vintage clothes from the 1990s. The episode was dedicated to the memory of longtime series composer Alf Clausen.
The table below lists the first five episodes of the new season:
Episode Number | Title | Original Air Date |
---|---|---|
1 | “Thrifty Ways to Thieve Your Mother” | September 28, 2025 |
2 | “Keep Chalm and Gary On” | October 5, 2025 |
3 | “Treehouse of Horror XXXVI” | October 19, 2025 |
4 | “Men Behaving Manly” | October 26, 2025 |
5 | “Bad Boysโฆ For Life?” | November 2, 2025 |
In “Keep Chalm and Gary On,” Homer gets Superintendent Chalmers a job at the power plant, where Chalmers discovers huge mutated snails that produce valuable slime, launching a new career for him. The annual “Treehouse of Horror XXXVI” episode will feature parodies of classic horror, including a 1970s-style segment with a monster made of sentient lard, a deal with the devil on Krusty’s live Halloween special, and a post-apocalyptic future.
Full Cast and Special Guest Stars
The core voice cast returns for the new season, including Dan Castellaneta (Homer Simpson), Julie Kavner (Marge Simpson), Nancy Cartwright (Bart Simpson), and Yeardley Smith (Lisa Simpson). They are joined by Hank Azaria and Harry Shearer, who voice numerous iconic Springfield residents.
This season also features a notable list of guest stars. The premiere episode featured Stephanie Hsu as the character Vidalia. Upcoming episodes will include appearances by Kerry Washington as Rayshelle Peyton, Adam Pally as Ben, and Cole Escola as Devin. The “Treehouse of Horror” episode will feature guest roles for Idris Elba, Viola Davis, and Michael Keaton. Other confirmed guest stars for the season include Matthew Modine and Albert Brooks.
Where to Watch New Episodes
Viewers have several options for watching new episodes of The Simpsons. The primary broadcaster is Fox, with new episodes airing Sunday nights. For cord-cutters, new episodes are available to stream the next day on Hulu. The show’s extensive library, including past seasons, is available to stream on Disney+. It is expected that the full Season 37 will be added to Disney+ after its broadcast run on Fox concludes in 2026.
In a unique release strategy, this season and the next three will also include two special episodes per season that will be released exclusively on Disney+ and will not air on Fox. One confirmed Disney+ special for this season is titled “Yellow Mirror,” a horror-themed episode with elements inspired by Black Mirror.
Behind the Scenes and Show Milestones
The season is being produced under the leadership of showrunner Matt Selman. On April 2, 2025, Fox officially renewed The Simpsons for four more seasons, guaranteeing the show will continue through at least its fortieth season. Each season from 37 to 40 will consist of 15 broadcast episodes on Fox plus 2 Disney+ exclusive specials.
This season is particularly special as it will feature the show’s 800th episode, a major television milestone. The 800th episode is scheduled to air in February 2026 and will be a two-part event focusing on Marge’s relationship with the family dog, Santa’s Little Helper, while also looking back at the first episode when the dog was adopted.
Regarding a humorous line in the season premiere that suggested a character might have died, co-executive producer Jessica Conrad clarified the show’s approach to character fates: “For something like this, I would welcome the riling up if you actually believe that would kill him off off-camera.” Co-executive producer Cesar Mazariegos added, “We usually donโt want to get rid of our characters. And itโs such a cartoony world. We know even if Moleman is in a car that explodes, it doesnโt mean heโs dead forever.”
