The anime series Scum of the Brave is getting ready for its second cour, and the production team just dropped a new trailer. The promotional video shows what fans can expect when the show returns on April 11, 2026. Along with the trailer, the team also announced two new voice actors joining the cast and the theme songs for the upcoming episodes.
The new footage shows a snowy setting, which points to a shift in the story’s tone. The first cour ended with several questions left unanswered, and this second half looks ready to pick up right where things left off.
New Trailer Shows Darker Direction for the Second Cour
The third main promotional video for Scum of the Brave gives viewers a proper look at what is coming. The trailer features the new opening theme song “Revive” by ClariS and the ending theme “NON-FICTION” by the rock band w.o.d. The visuals in the trailer show a much colder environment compared to the first cour, with snow-covered landscapes and more intense action sequences.
The change in setting suggests the story is moving toward higher stakes. The trailer also gives brief looks at the two new characters who will appear in the second cour. Fans who watched the first cour know the show does not follow typical hero stories, and the new trailer confirms that approach continues.
Two New Voice Actors Join the Cast for Cour 2
Tomokazu Sugita and Ayumu Murase are the latest additions to the voice cast for the second cour. Sugita, known for his role as Gintoki Sakata in Gintama, will voice Hijiri Awashima, a character described as a priest who runs the Hero Hot Springs. Murase, who voices Iruma Suzuki in Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun, takes on the role of Lord Hazeru Seito, one of the three Demon Lords who control different areas of Hokkaido.
These two actors bring solid experience to the series. Sugita has been in the industry for decades and is known for his ability to handle both comedic and serious roles. Murase has built a strong reputation for voicing younger characters with depth. Their addition to the cast gives the second cour a boost in terms of performance quality.
ClariS and w.o.d. Perform New Theme Songs
The music for the second cour comes from two well-known acts. ClariS, the duo famous for their work on Lycoris Recoil and multiple Puella Magi Madoka Magica songs, performs the opening theme “Revive.” The rock band w.o.d. , who previously worked on Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Separation, handles the ending theme “NON-FICTION.”
ClariS shared their thoughts on the new song, saying it is different from their usual style.
“Our new song ‘Revive’ is an intense rock number with rough and provocative lyrics that express the protagonist Yashiro’s human nature. It’s a strong and intense song like we’ve never done before. Please feel our new charm!”
w.o.d. also spoke about their contribution to the series.
“We wrote the new song ‘NON-FICTION’ while connecting the world of ‘Yūsha no Kuzu’ with our own lives. It’s a very real and at the same time rocky song, typical of w.o.d.”
Scum of the Brave Cour 2 Release Date and Streaming Details
Scum of the Brave Cour 2 begins airing on April 11, 2026. The show continues to stream on Crunchyroll for audiences in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, India, and other selected regions. Japanese viewers can watch on NTV, dAnime, Hulu Japan, and AT-X.
The series airs in the late-night time slot, similar to the first cour. For most international viewers, new episodes will appear on Crunchyroll shortly after the Japanese broadcast.
What Is Scum of the Brave About?
The story takes place in an alternate version of the mid-21st century. In this world, rich mafia members can undergo ether-enhancement surgery to turn into powerful Demon Lords. The people who hunt them down are called Braves.
The main character Yashiro, voiced by Ryōta Suzuki, is not your typical hero. He prefers pizza, beer, and easy money over any kind of noble cause. When three young Braves offer him a large sum of money to become their private tutor, he agrees only for the cash. One of his students is Aki Jogamine, voiced by Akari Kitō, a high school girl training to become a Brave.
What follows is a mix of dark comedy, supernatural cases, and a master-apprentice relationship that neither of them asked for. The show does not paint heroes as purely good or villains as purely evil. That gray area is what makes the series stand out from other action anime.
Main Cast and Production Team for Cour 2
The main voice cast returns for the second cour. Ryōta Suzuki leads as Shinigami Yashiro, with Akari Kitō as Aki Jogamine. Momo Harumi voices Yukine Indō, and Yumiri Hanamori plays Sara Kashiwagi Pendragon. Other returning cast members include Hinata Tadokoro as Salt Joe, Daisuke Hirakawa as Ongakuya Ishinō, and Yasuhiro Takato as Moguri no Maruta.
Shinji Ushiro, who directed Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro 2nd Attack, returns as director. Yoichi Kato handles series composition and scripts. Rika Murakami designs the characters, and Kenichiro Suehiro composes the music. OLM, the studio behind Pokémon and Odd Taxi, continues animation production.

What to Expect From Cour 2
The second cour begins with Episode 13 on April 11. The story moves to Hokkaido, where the conflict with the Demon Lords becomes more direct. The new characters played by Sugita and Murase will play key roles in this arc. The snowy setting shown in the new visual is not just for looks. It represents the colder, more dangerous situation Yashiro and his students find themselves in.
The first cour built the world and introduced the main players. The second cour looks ready to raise the tension. With new music, new characters, and a shift in setting, the show is setting up for a strong finish to its two-cour run.
A special program will air on ABEMA on April 11 at 8:00 PM Japan time to mark the start of the second cour. Momo Harumi and Yasuhiro Takato will appear as guests. The program will be available for free for three months.
