Man's Amusement Park Date with Life-Sized Doll Goes Viral in Korea

A South Korean man’s unique Lunar New Year date has captured widespread attention. He spent the holiday at an amusement park with what appeared to be a life-sized doll, sparking conversations online.

A Day at the Park with “Rem”

The man shared photos of his outing with the doll, named “Rem,” in an online review of his visit to Gyeongju World on January 5, KST. His detailed review described their day together, even personifying Rem.

I couldn’t get on all the rides because it was winter, but I was happy to take her on rides like the Kraken (an apparent misspelling of the roller coaster Draken), the Magic Bike, the Air Balloon and the Bumper Cars… It was the best!

The photos clearly showed Rem as a s*x doll. However, some who encountered the pair in public reportedly mistook Rem for a real person. One netizen recounted seeing the man and Rem in a wheelchair at Busan station, admitting they initially thought Rem was human.

Growing Popularity of Life-Sized Dolls

While not typical in South Korea, life-sized s*x dolls have become more common in recent years. Importation of these dolls was only permitted by the Korea Customs Service in 2022. The man’s public date with Rem has brought this topic to the forefront, generating discussions about societal acceptance and the evolving landscape of personal relationships.
