The first trailer for Enola Holmes 3 is here, and the young detective has a lot on her plate. Millie Bobby Brown returns as the clever sister of Sherlock Holmes, and this time she is dealing with a wedding proposal right before her famous brother gets taken.
Netflix dropped the teaser on May 27, giving fans a look at what is coming this summer. The one-minute-and-twenty-second video shows Enola living a happy, simple life with her love interest, Lord Tewkesbury, played by Louis Partridge. But things take a sharp turn when Sherlock, played by Henry Cavill, disappears.
Tewkesbury Pops the Question with a Flower Ring
The trailer starts with a soft and romantic feel. Enola and Tewkesbury are seen laughing, dancing, and playing games together in an open field. Enola says in the background: “Life was everything I wanted it to be. When it was just the two of us, those were the best times of all”.
Then comes the big surprise. Tewkesbury gets down on one knee and asks Enola to marry him using a ring made of flowers. The moment leaves the usually sharp detective completely speechless. She then looks directly at the camera and tells the audience: “Yes, I was surprised too.” This fourth wall break is a signature move for the character, letting viewers feel like they are in on the secret.
She says yes, and Tewkesbury places the flower ring on her finger. But the happy moment does not last long.
Sherlock Gets Kidnapped Right Before the Wedding
Just as wedding plans start moving forward, disaster strikes. Dr. John Watson, played by Himesh Patel, rushes to tell Enola that her brother has been taken. The trailer cuts to intense scenes of Cavill’s Sherlock being attacked by masked individuals who put a black bag over his head.
The teaser shows Enola in a beautiful white wedding dress, ready to walk down the aisle. But instead of heading to the ceremony, she jumps onto a horse-drawn carriage with a rifle in her hand. The final shot shows Tewkesbury waiting at the altar while someone assures him Enola is on her way. The audience, however, sees the bride speeding away to save her brother.
The official logline for Enola Holmes 3 states: “Adventure chases detective Enola Holmes to Malta, where personal and professional dreams collide on a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before”.
Millie Bobby Brown Talks About a More Grown-Up Enola
Millie Bobby Brown, who is also a producer on the film, opened up about where her character is in this third chapter. She told Netflix’s Tudum that Enola is more confident but still figuring things out.
“What I love about this chapter is that Enola is stepping into a version of herself that feels much more defined but still evolving. She’s built something for herself, which is amazing, but she’s also questioning what she wants next, and I think that’s something so many people can relate to,” Brown said.
She also talked about working with Louis Partridge again and how their friendship helps the on-screen romance feel real. “There’s a comfort and an ease between us now that you can’t really fake,” she added.

The third movie brings back several familiar faces. Henry Cavill returns as Sherlock Holmes, and Helena Bonham Carter is back as Eudoria Holmes, the mother of the detective siblings. Louis Partridge reprises his role as Tewkesbury, while Himesh Patel plays Dr. John Watson. Sharon Duncan-Brewster also returns as Mira Troy, the reimagined version of Moriarty.
New cast member Jason Watkins has joined the movie, appearing in the trailer comforting Tewkesbury at the wedding.
The film is directed by Philip Barantini, known for the Netflix hit Adolescence, with a screenplay written by Jack Thorne. Brown’s husband, Jake Bongiovi, serves as an executive producer on the project.
Release Date and Where to Watch
Enola Holmes 3 arrives on Netflix on July 1, 2026. Subscribers in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, India, and all other regions with Netflix access will be able to stream the movie starting that day.
The film follows the first two movies, which became huge hits for the streaming platform. It is based on the Enola Holmes Mysteries book series by Nancy Springer.
