Ryan Reynolds has spoken out about how the ongoing legal battle between his wife Blake Lively and her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni has affected his business ventures. The actor emphasized that his companies continue to thrive despite the controversy, stating that integrity and core values guide his decisions.
The Legal Battle Between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni
The dispute began when Blake Lively accused Justin Baldoni of misconduct during the production of It Ends With Us. Baldoni denied the allegations and filed a $400 million countersuit against Lively, Reynolds, and their publicist, claiming defamation and extortion. A judge recently dismissed Baldoniโs lawsuit, marking a legal win for Lively.
Blake Lively said in a statement: “While the suit against me was defeated, so many donโt have the resources to fight back. Iโm more resolved than ever to continue to stand for every womanโs right to have a voice.”
Ryan Reynolds on the Fallout
Despite the public scrutiny, Reynolds insists his business ventures remain unaffected. In a recent TIME100 interview, he downplayed the impact of the legal drama on his companies, which include Aviation Gin, Mint Mobile, and Wrexham AFC.
Ryan Reynolds stated: “I can read something that says, ‘He should be drawn and quartered.’ I could read something that says I should win a Nobel Prize. Both are meaningless. None of us are comprised of our best moments. None of us are defined by our worst moments.”
He also stressed the importance of accountability in business, saying:
“If you operate with some degree of core values and integrity, theyโre going to help you up. If youโre an a–hole, theyโre not. And thatโs pretty simple.”
Public Reactions and Backlash
The legal feud has sparked mixed reactions online. Some fans have criticized Blake Lively over recent allegations of rude behavior at a New York boutique, while others continue to support her. Meanwhile, Reynolds’ business partners and colleagues have publicly backed him.
Rob McElhenney, his Wrexham AFC co-owner, said: “With Ryan, you donโt feel like youโre being sold a bill of goods. Heโs exactly who he says he is.”
Reynolds remains focused on his upcoming projects, including the live-action/animation hybrid film Animal Friends, set for release in May 2026. The movie, co-starring Jason Momoa and Aubrey Plaza, has faced delays but remains highly anticipated.
