Where and When to Watch Season 2
The first two episodes of House of David Season 2 will be released on October 5, 2025. However, the way to watch it is new. Instead of being immediately available to all Prime Video subscribers, the season will debut exclusively on The Wonder Project, a new subscription add-on channel available through Prime Video in the U.S.
After the premiere on October 5, new episodes will be released weekly. The season will be available to all Prime Video subscribers at a later date, which has not yet been announced. The Wonder Project subscription costs $8.99 per month or $89.99 for a full year.
For those who need to catch up, Season 1 is currently available to stream on Prime Video.
What to Expect in the New Season
Season 2 picks up right after the dramatic events of the first season, which ended with David’s legendary defeat of the giant Goliath. The new season explores the aftermath of that battle and the rising tension between David and King Saul.
David’s victory makes him a hero to the people, but it also makes King Saul deeply jealous and suspicious. David finds himself caught between his loyalty to the king and the destiny that has been promised to him. The season will show David’s transformation from a young shepherd into a warrior and leader, all while navigating the dangerous politics of Saul’s court.
The story will also focus on the personal relationships and shifting alliances within the kingdom, including David’s romantic connection with the king’s daughter, Michal. The prophet Samuel, played by Stephen Lang, continues to guide David, helping him understand his role as a future king.
Jon Erwin, the show’s creator, has said that David’s story is about more than just one battle. He explained, “His rise to greatness didnโt happen overnight. His story is about more than just a young boy facing down a giant. Itโs about the journey of becoming who you were always meant to be.”
Stephen Lang, who plays the prophet Samuel, described his character’s role in shaping David: “Samuel is very instrumental in contouring Davidโs consciousness, his capabilities, and his confidence. He helps him to also understand the voice of the Lord manifests in many different ways and to be open to hear and see. Thatโs what a mentor does and thatโs what Samuel does for David.”
