The April 24, 2026 episode of Fire Country put Bode Leone in a tough spot. He wanted the REMS-1 Team Leader position, but his uncle Luke told him he was still too new. Instead of waiting, Bode found another way to prove himself, and it almost cost him everything.

The episode titled “Not Worth the Risk” showed Edgewater dealing with a sudden cold snap. Temperatures dropped very fast, turning a normal day into a life or death situation.

Bode Tries to Force His Way Into a Leadership Role

Bode wanted that REMS leadership spot badly. He went to his uncle Luke for help, but Luke did not give in. Luke said Bode had not been around long enough. People still remembered his past, and that was getting in the way.

Luke told him that leadership is not given out just because someone asks for it. Bode needed to earn it the right way, but Bode wanted results now.

Chloe gave him an idea. She suggested he wear a camera so others could see him work. Since he was not officially assigned a body cam, he borrowed one. His plan was to record everything and use the footage to make his case for the promotion.

But while Bode was busy setting up his camera, he missed something important. The weather was about to turn very bad.

Jake and Violet Face a Proposal Problem

Jake wanted to propose to Violet. He had a big plan involving a hot air balloon ride over all the places that meant something to their relationship. He practiced his speech and wanted everything to be perfect.

But Violet had the same idea, and her plan was very different. She saw marriage as a practical solution to keep both their careers safe. She compared it to getting a driver’s license renewed at the DMV. That hurt Jake’s feelings because marriage meant more to him than just a work agreement.

He did not say yes right away. Before they could finish talking, duty called. The cold snap was getting worse, and everyone had to move.

A Mountain Rescue Goes Horribly Wrong

Eve caught some crew members gambling when they were not supposed to. Instead of just punishing them, she took them up Mount Silas to help them focus. That choice turned into a disaster.

The weather became very brutal very fast. The group started arguing, and things got physical. Then an ice landslide hit, sending all five of them down about thirty feet. They were hurt, stuck, and the weather was getting worse by the second.

Eve called for help, but the wind and cold made it almost impossible for a helicopter to land. One deputy needed urgent evacuation, but there was no way to get them out.

Bode Turns Off the Camera and Makes a Choice

Down below, Bode helped organize shelter and got a fire going. But the bigger problem was not the cold. The crew kept turning on each other. The fighting started over cheating at cards, and it got out of control.

Zane ran off after things got too heated. Bode went after him. Before he left, he turned off his body cam. That was a huge risk. The footage was supposed to help him get noticed for the promotion. Without it, he had no proof of his actions.

But Bode was not thinking about the promotion anymore. He knew Zane could go back to prison over one mistake. He talked to Zane as someone who understood where he was coming from. He connected with him as a person, not as a firefighter trying to look good.

Back with the group, Bode forced everyone to work together instead of fighting. He also coordinated another helicopter attempt through Luke. This time, it worked. They got off the mountain, and the injured people received treatment.

The Ending That Changed Everything

Bode did not get the promotion he wanted at the start of the episode. But something unexpected happened. The footage from his body cam, even with the parts he turned off, got used in a REMS commercial. Suddenly, people in Sacramento started paying attention.

He showed exactly why he deserved to lead, just not in the way he planned. He put his team first and risked his own future to help someone else. That said more about his leadership skills than any video could.

Jake and Violet also worked things out by the end. Jake proposed to her at the firehouse, and this time she said yes for the right reasons.
