The Prime Video series based on Elle Kennedy’s books drops its most emotional episode yet as Hannah opens up about her trauma and finally sees who truly deserves her heart.
Prime Video‘s hit series Off Campus released its fourth episode on May 13, 2026, and it is already becoming the most talked-about chapter of the season. The show, based on Elle Kennedy’s popular hockey romance novels, follows students at Briar University where the ice hockey team’s captain, Garrett Graham, strikes a fake-dating deal with music major Hannah Wells. She helps him pass music class, and in return, he makes her crush Justin jealous. But by episode 4, nothing about their arrangement feels fake anymore.
The episode, titled “The Breakup,” picks up exactly where episode 3 left off. Hannah asks Garrett to help her in a very personal way before she sleeps with Justin, and what follows changes everything between them.
Hannah Shares a Painful Secret With Garrett
Episode 4 begins with Hannah telling Garrett the truth she has kept hidden from everyone, including her best friend Allie. She explains that she was drugged and r*ped at a high school party. Even though she has worked with a therapist and healed in many ways, she still cannot fully let go during intimate moments with a man.
Hannah admits she is terrified of freezing up when things get physical with Justin. She asks Garrett, as her friend, to help her feel comfortable enough to overcome this block. Garrett listens carefully without interrupting, and even though the news shocks him, he agrees to help her that night.
“We had a lot of reverence for that scene, and we were really careful and intentional about it.” – Belmont Cameli, who plays Garrett, told Entertainment Weekly.
Garrett Shows a Different Side During Their Night Together
When Hannah arrives at Garrett’s apartment wearing a tight dress borrowed from Allie, he immediately notices how uncomfortable she looks. He asks her to change into one of his T-shirts and even turns around to give her privacy. Hannah points out that he does not need to look away since they plan to be intimate, but Garrett tells her they agreed to sleep together, not to watch her change.

He puts on music and dances with her first to help her relax. When they start kissing and things move further, Garrett senses Hannah tensing up. He stops immediately, even though she asks him to continue. Instead of pushing forward, Garrett suggests they pleasure themselves while watching each other. This allows Hannah to feel safe while still reaching her goal.
The scene has become one of the most talked-about moments of the show. Belmont Cameli revealed to Entertainment Tonight that he filmed his part of the scene alone days later. “It was so funny. I was alone in the room,” he said. “It was insane. And I was like, ‘All right, boys, look away’.”
Afterward, the two sit together eating freezer food and talking about music. Garrett starts opening up about his mother and almost admits his feelings for Hannah, but his phone buzzes with notifications. Hannah panics, thinking she is getting in the way of him hooking up with other girls, and quickly leaves for her dorm.

Allie Ends Things With Sean
When Hannah returns to her dorm, she finds Allie in the middle of a breakup. Sean reacted poorly to Allie’s news about pursuing a talent agent job, telling her to be realistic and mapping out a future in Vermont. Allie ended things on the spot, but Sean barely reacted. He counts down the thirty-six hours he expects it will take before she comes back to him, a pattern they have repeated many times during their two-year relationship.
Allie channels her anger into preparing for “Drunk Shakespeare,” a chaotic theatre event where actors and audience members drink throughout the performance. What starts as a fun distraction becomes the setting where every character’s true feelings come to the surface.

Drunk Shakespeare Brings Everyone’s Feelings to Light
At the Drunk Shakespeare show, Garrett walks in ready to tell Hannah how he feels. But he sees her sitting close to Justin, laughing and looking comfortable. The actors pull audience members onto the stage, and Hannah and Justin get chosen to play lovers. Garrett gets pulled in as well, and Kendall, a girl Garrett once treated badly, volunteers herself to complete the messy on-stage love square.
During the performance, Garrett apologizes to Kendall for how he handled things between them. He tells her he now understands what it feels like to want someone who might not want him back. It becomes a quiet growth moment for his character. But the biggest moment comes when Garrett has to dance on stage for Kendall’s character. He performs with real energy and takes off his shirt, making Hannah go completely still as she watches him.
While this happens, Justin asks Hannah out on a real date. Caught up in the moment, she says yes. After the show, she tells Garrett their arrangement is officially over. He got his grade up, and she got the guy. Garrett takes the news quietly and heads to the hockey arena alone.
Hannah Realizes Justin Is Not the One
Later that night, Hannah talks with Justin and realizes something important. When she brings up a song she loves, Justin says he likes it too. But when she presses further, it becomes clear he only likes how it sounds. There is no deeper meaning attached to it, no memory or feeling it connects to. Even the song they wrote together for her music showcase feels hollow when she looks at it honestly.
Garrett is completely different. Earlier in the episode, when Hannah asked him about a song she played during their night together, Garrett told her his mother used to play it all the time and that it makes him feel brave and understood. He attaches real meaning to things. He feels them instead of just hearing them.
Hannah ends things with Justin for good and rushes to find Garrett. She learns he is still at the arena and makes her way to the announcer’s booth. She sings “Baby Now That I’ve Found You” by The Foundations, the same song they danced to earlier, pouring every real emotion she has been holding back into the performance.
Garrett stops skating when he hears her voice coming through the arena speakers. He follows the sound up to the booth, and when he finds her, neither of them needs to say a word. The episode ends with him running toward her as she keeps singing, finally choosing the person who has been right in front of her all along.
