Broadway’s biggest night is finally here. The 79th Annual Tony Awards will take place on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the historic Radio City Music Hall in New York City. This year, the ceremony has a major twist. Pop superstar Pink is stepping in as host for the very first time. She replaces the traditional Broadway insider with fresh energy, and producers say she was the fastest “yes” they have ever gotten for the job.
When and Where to Watch the 2026 Tony Awards
For viewers in the United States, the main ceremony airs live on CBS from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Eastern Time (5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Pacific Time). If you do not have cable, you can stream the show live on Paramount+, but you need a Premium subscription to watch it as it airs. Standard tier subscribers can watch the show on-demand starting Monday, June 8.
International viewers in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and India can also stream the Tonys live or on-demand depending on their regional Paramount+ availability, though broadcast times will vary by time zone.
Pink Opens Up About Hosting Broadway’s Biggest Night
Pink has performed at award shows before, but she has never hosted one. The singer told producers she was nervous but ready. In an exclusive interview, executive producer Raj Kapoor explained how the deal came together. “We proposed it to our partners, and everybody got on board very quickly. Within a few days, we were all on a Zoom together,” Kapoor said.
“She told us she’d never hosted an award show before, and we said we’d support her through the process. By the time we finished the Zoom, she said she was in.” – Raj Kapoor, Executive Producer
Fellow producer Jack Sussman added, “I think all three of us have spent a lot of time trying to get great hosts for these big shows. This was the quickest yes I’ve ever heard in a pitch.” The producers also revealed that Pink is doing this simply because she loves theater. “She’s doing it because she’s a superfan and wants to be in the room. She’s not doing it because she has a movie coming out or an album coming out.”
The Pre-Show and Red Carpet Details
Before the main event, there is a pre-show titled “The Tony Awards: Act One.” It starts at 6:35 p.m. ET (3:35 p.m. PT) and streams on Pluto TV. Laura Benanti and Tituss Burgess host this segment, where most of the technical awards (like lighting, sound, and set design) are handed out. The red carpet will also be rolling out before the ceremony, with stars like Ariana DeBose, Megan Thee Stallion, Adrien Brody, and Maya Rudolph expected to walk it.
Star-Studded Presenters and Performers
The list of presenters reads like a who’s who of Hollywood and Broadway. Ariana DeBose, Adrien Brody, and Annette Bening are scheduled to hand out awards. Music stars like Sting and Megan Thee Stallion will also appear on stage. Broadway legends including Bernadette Peters, Billy Crystal, Ben Platt, Kristin Chenoweth, and Neil Patrick Harris are set to make appearances. Bowen Yang, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Paul Rudd round out the celebrity presenters.
Memorable Musical Performances Planned
The Tonys are famous for their show-stopping musical numbers. This year, the audience will see performances from all the nominees for Best Musical and Best Revival of a Musical. The lineup includes “The Lost Boys,” “Schmigadoon!,” “Titanique,” “Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York),” “Cats: The Jellicle Ball,” “Ragtime,” and “Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show.”
There will also two special anniversary performances. “Chicago” turns 30 this year, and Queen Latifah will join Pink on stage for a unique tribute. Leslie Odom Jr. will perform “Without You” from “Rent” for the In Memoriam segment, honoring the musical’s 30th anniversary. Rachel Zegler will take part in a tribute to “A Chorus Line” for its 50th anniversary.
