Marvel Studios is reportedly working on a new live-action series for Disney+ that would focus on a group of younger superheroes. Rumors suggest the studio has set up a new production company called Veil Productions to develop the project, which is currently using the working title “Slumber Party.”
The Multiverse Saga of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is nearing its end with Avengers: Doomsday arriving this December and Avengers: Secret Wars scheduled for next year. As Marvel looks beyond Secret Wars, this new series could be one of the first projects to introduce the next generation of heroes.
Marvel Sets Up Veil Productions for Mystery Disney+ Show
Reports indicate that Marvel Studios created a production company called Veil Productions specifically for an unannounced television project. The company was reportedly established during convention season as Marvel finalized its 2028 theatrical slate.
Insider outlet Murphy’s Multiverse first identified Veil Productions as a shell company tied to a Marvel Studios streaming project. The site later reported that Veil Productions has been approved to begin production under the working title “Slumber Party.”
The name Veil holds significance in Marvel Comics. In the comics, Veil was a young member of the Avengers Academy. The working title “Slumber Party” also points toward a youthful setting.
What Could the Series Be About?
There are several possibilities for this mystery project. The two main theories suggest it could be a Young Avengers series or a New Mutants project.
Young Avengers or Champions
The Young Avengers project has been in development for years. The last scene of 2023’s The Marvels showed Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) meeting Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), hinting at the formation of a Young Avengers team. However, there has been no official movement on this project since then.

Writer Reportedly Attached to the Project
According to multiple reports, Rachna Fruchbom has been tapped to write the series. Fruchbom currently writes and executive produces Apple TV+’s comedy series Shrinking. She has also worked on shows like And Just Like That…, Fresh Off the Boat, and Parks and Recreation.
Fruchbom is expected to serve as showrunner and executive producer on the project.
Industry insider Daniel Richtman has reported that Marvel is close to hiring a showrunner for the Champions series. Richtman also suggested that filming could start in 2026, with a release planned after Avengers: Secret Wars.
When Could the Series Release?
The series is reportedly planned as a post-Secret Wars project. Filming is expected to begin sometime in 2026.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to release in December 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled for 2027. This timeline suggests the young superhero series would likely arrive after Secret Wars, possibly in 2028 or later.
Iman Vellani, who plays Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, is currently co-hosting the Countdown to Avengers: Doomsday podcast, keeping the character in the spotlight.

Fans have been speculating about what this mystery series could be. Some believe it could bring back Nate Richards/Iron Lad, a heroic variant of Kang the Conqueror. This version of the character learns about his future and tries to stay on a heroic path.
