South Korean actor and 2PM member Lee Junho has reportedly been investigated by the Seoul Regional Tax Office for a potential tax evasion scheme involving a four-story commercial building in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
The investigation, part of the Unified Planned Tax Investigation for Artists of Corporate Businesses, stemmed from a difference in opinion between tax authorities and Lee Junho’s tax agent regarding the purchase of the building by his family’s business, JF Company.
The building, acquired for 17.5 billion KRW, was purchased under the company’s name, potentially allowing for a lower corporate tax rate of 4.6% compared to the standard 9.4% for individual acquisitions.
Lee Junho’s agency, JYP Entertainment, has clarified that the actor did not intentionally evade taxes and has paid the additional taxes in full. They emphasized that the actor had been compliant with the procedures and had no intentions of unsavory practices.
Lee Junho’s profits made on his 2019 purchase of two units of The Rivers Cheongdam in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, were also highlighted in the reports.

We would like to address the recent reports regarding our artist Lee Junho.
After confirming with him, we can state that he fully cooperated with the non-regular comprehensive tax audit conducted by the Seoul Regional Tax Office’s Investigation Bureau 2 in September 2023. This audit was not initiated due to any allegations of tax evasion.
With the guidance of a tax advisor, Lee Junho faithfully filed his taxes and paid the additional amount requested, which resulted from differences in perspective between the tax authorities and the tax advisor.
This was the first non-regular tax audit he received in 17 years of his career. He adhered to all legal procedures and paid the disputed tax amount, and we would like to emphasize that there was no intentional tax evasion involved.
Since his debut, Lee Junho has diligently fulfilled his tax obligations. We would like to reiterate that there have been no dishonorable activities regarding his tax compliance.
