BTS’ Jimin and Jungkook, two integral members of the globally renowned group, reached a significant milestone as they completed their military training at the 5th Division Recruit Training Center on January 17. In a touching gesture to connect with their dedicated fanbase, Jimin shared insights into their military life through a heartfelt handwritten letter posted on Weverse, the official fan community app.
In his letter addressed to the ARMY, Jimin expressed his feelings of missing the fans and updated them on the successful completion of his training and the subsequent graduation ceremony. He shared the camaraderie and support he experienced with Jungkook, highlighting the crucial role their friendship played in making time pass swiftly during this phase. Jimin reassured fans about his well-being, detailing how he connects with other members through public phones. He also commended Jungkook’s dedication to military life.
As Jimin prepared to transition to his assigned military base, he expressed gratitude, love, and encouragement to the ARMY, promising to share more updates once settled at the base.

Simultaneously, Jungkook surprised fans with a succinct yet impactful update, simply stating, “Unity,” a word that swiftly trended worldwide and sparked anticipation for BTS’ future endeavors. The duo’s military service gains significance as they reportedly join the 5th Infantry Division, where Jin serves as an assistant training instructor. The specific roles of Jungkook, Jimin, and Jin within the unit may vary based on deployment.
Meanwhile, RM and V completed recruit training at Nonsan Training Center, earning recognition as elite graduates during a January 16 military ceremony. With Jin’s service expected to conclude in June, J-Hope is set to return in October 2024, and SUGA is serving as a social worker. The anticipation is high for BTS to resume full group activities in 2025.

On a related note, The Camp, in response to BIGHIT MUSIC’s notice, acknowledged the unauthorized use of BTS members’ names and portraits, citing management issues. Following corrective actions and in compliance with BIGHIT MUSIC’s request, all artist-associated camps will cease operations on March 9. The app pledged legal responsibility for any future unauthorized use of BIGHIT MUSIC’s artists’ names, aligning with BIGHIT’s commitment to stringent measures against publicity rights infringements.
