Reneé Rapp’s second album, Bite Me, is a powerful statement from the 25-year-old singer and actress. The album, set for release on August 1, 2025, follows her successful debut, Snow Angel (2023), and reflects her growth as an artist. Rapp describes the project as a mix of pop, R&B, and raw emotion, with lyrics that mirror her unfiltered personality.
“I wanted to love this,” Rapp says. “I wanted to be able to walk away from this and be so proud of myself and impressed, no matter what anybody else thought.”
The album’s lead single, “Leave Me Alone“, addresses her career struggles, including her exit from HBO’s The Sex Lives of College Girls and the pressures of fame after her role in Mean Girls (2024). The song’s bold lyrics and restrained vocals set the tone for the album, which balances humor, heartbreak, and defiance.
The Inspiration Behind “Bite Me”
Rapp worked closely with producer Alexander 23 and drew inspiration from artists like Alanis Morissette and Joan Jett. The album’s title, Bite Me, serves as both a warning and a playful tease. Rapp promoted the project with a bold photoshoot featuring mock tabloid covers, reinforcing her reputation as an artist who doesn’t hold back.
“It really feels just like a time capsule of those two years of my life, a lot having to do with the business and the industry and people’s expectations of me,” Rapp explains.
Tracks like “Mad” and “Why Is She Still Here?” explore toxic relationships, while “At Least I’m Hot” features her girlfriend, musician Towa Bird, adding a fun and personal touch.
Rapp’s Tour and Pride Advocacy
Alongside the album, Rapp announced the Bite Me Tour, kicking off in September 2025 at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The tour includes stops at Madison Square Garden and London’s OVO Arena Wembley, with supporting acts Ravyn Lenae and Syd.
In June 2025, Rapp served as a grand marshal at World Pride in Washington, D.C., alongside Laverne Cox. She has been vocal about LGBTQ+ rights and the challenges of being a queer artist in today’s climate.
“Right now, when everything is so under attack, which it pretty much always is, it feels like that’s the time to be really loud.”
Fan Reactions and What’s Next
Fans have eagerly embraced Rapp’s unfiltered approach, with social media buzzing over her latest singles. The album’s mix of vulnerability and confidence resonates with listeners, making Bite Me one of the most anticipated releases of 2025.
