- Yoon Kye Sang plays Choi Kang, a former special operations soldier now working as an ordinary insurance investigator. Around his neighborhood, he is known as “the guy who never served in the military,” hiding his impressive past.
- Jin Sun Kyu takes on the role of Kwak Byung Nam, a former counterterrorism agent. He now runs a hardware and stationery store and serves as the head of the local youth association.
- Kim Ji Hyun stars as Jung Nam Yeon, the charismatic owner of the local Mammoth Mart supermarket.
- Ko Kyu Phil portrays Lee Yong Hee, a martial arts instructor who runs the Yong Mu Special Martial Arts Center, often seen in a special forces martial arts uniform.
- Lee Jung Ha appears as Park Jung Hwan, a brilliant engineering student who is always ready to handle any situation.
Story and Setting of the New Series
“Heroes Next Door” unfolds in the serene Changri Neighborhood, where its main characters try to live quiet, civilian lives. The story begins when their peaceful community faces unexpected threats. This forces the group of former special forces and counter-terrorism operatives to come together once more.
Their mission is different this time. They are not reuniting to protect the nation or fight for world peace. Instead, they are motivated by a more personal cause: to defend their families and their immediate neighborhood. The tagline for the show, “Residents with special forces backgrounds and 100 percent combat skills,” highlights the unique abilities each character brings to the team.
Release Schedule and Where to Watch
“Heroes Next Door” will premiere on November 17, 2025, at 10:00 PM KST. The series will air on the ENA network. For streaming, it will be available on Coupang Play and Genie TV shortly after its television broadcast. The drama is scheduled for a total of 10 episodes, with new episodes releasing weekly. It takes over the Monday-Tuesday 10 PM time slot on ENA previously held by “Ms. Incognito.”
The final episode is expected to air on December 16, 2025. At this time, official information regarding international streaming platforms for viewers outside South Korea has not been announced.
