The premiere of Married to Medicine Season 12 showed a major change in an unexpected friendship. Quad Webb opened up about her close and evolving bond with newcomer Dr. Mimi Sanders, marking a shift from past group tensions.
This new connection comes as the show, which returned on November 30, 2025, features a reshaped cast and fresh dynamics. While long-running conflicts, like the one between Quad and Dr. Simone Whitmore, continue, Quad’s revelation about Mimi offers a different story.
The New Dynamic Between Quad and Mimi
In the season’s first episode, Quad shared details of her changing relationship with Dr. Mimi Sanders. Speaking directly to the cameras, Quad explained the nature of their bond.
“The relationship between Mimi and I, has changed drastically. We have hung out and have just stayed out till 4-5 o’clock in the morning,” Quad said.
This confession points to a friendship that has moved beyond simple castmate courtesy. Their late nights together suggest a personal connection that developed away from the group’s main events. The conversation happened after Mimi sent Quad an invitation for the Sanders Polo Classic, the first major event Mimi and her husband Steve hosted as full-time cast members.
A Spotlight Moment for Dr. Mimi Sanders
The Polo Classic event was a significant moment for Mimi and Steve Sanders, serving as their formal introduction as central figures on the show. In the premiere episode, Mimi expressed her excitement about finally hosting the group in Atlanta, something she and Steve had been known for in their previous home.
“Being down here in Atlanta, we have not had the chance to do that because we are still establishing relationships and just getting our footing. So, now it is time to have a standards and extravaganza,” Mimi told Quad.
Mimi also revealed a different side of herself during a private confessional, hinting at the personality Quad gets to see. “There’s Dr. Mimi, and then there’s Mimi. I’m like, Mimi after dark. Not all the ladies have seen that. But, a little espresso martini, a little twerk, and we’re gonna have a good time,” she said. As a psychiatrist focused on women’s mental health, Mimi has often found herself in the role of a peacemaker within the group, using her professional skills to navigate conflicts.
Contrasting Friendships: Quad’s Strained History with Simone
Quad’s easy friendship with Mimi stands in sharp contrast to her ongoing difficulties with longtime cast member Dr. Simone Whitmore. During the same premiere episode, Mimi asked Quad if she had spoken to Simone recently.
“You know, no. I have not spoken to herโฆ I just don’t really know what it is with Simone and me. It’s just always something. I apologized. I’ve been accountable, like, what else can I do. Anything else from this point is a*ss kissing. I’ve never been to that business. Doesn’t pay enough,” Quad replied.
This tension is not new. Their issues, which were a major part of the Season 11 reunion that aired in March 2025, have persisted. The conflict deepened after Simone did not attend Quad’s birthday party because she received the invitation only two hours before it started. In a joint confessional for Season 12, Quad’s boyfriend, King, even expressed his frustration with the constant drama between the two women.
The two finally addressed their issues face-to-face at the Sanders Polo Classic. Their conversation grew heated as they discussed interviews and comments made outside the show. Fellow cast member Toya Bush-Harris stepped in, asking, “Can you guys fix this?”. Simone’s response suggested a need for space, saying, “I think we need time, and we need the space”.

A Changed Cast and New Season Dynamics
The focus on Quad and Mimi’s bond is part of larger changes for Married to Medicine Season 12. The show has seen a cast shakeup, with Phaedra Parks and Lateasha ‘Sweet Tea’ Lunceford no longer part of the main group. New faces include Brandi Milton, a board-certified family nurse practitioner, and Angel Love Davis, a registered nurse and Basketball Wives alum, who join as friends of the cast.
Another shift involves Dr. Heavenly Kimes, who is appearing this season as a “friend” of the cast while she runs for the Georgia House of Representatives. Her absence from the Polo Classic event was noted by the other women.
The Sanders Polo Classic itself became a central gathering point for these new and evolving relationships. The event, described as a “garden party,” was meant to be a fun outing but also provided the setting for several serious conversations about the state of the group’s friendships.
For Quad, this new season also brings a continued focus on her personal life with her boyfriend, King. In an episode that aired on November 30, she shared that they are “still in separate homes,” but that their relationship is “going extremely well”. The season will also show more of Quad’s journey as she explores IVF with King.
Dr. Mimi Sanders, reflecting on her decision to join the show, has stated she is happy with her choice. “I’m going to use everything God gave me to do my particular purpose in this world. If it’s this show and enjoying it and being blessed, I’m going to continue to do it,” she said in an interview. She also confirmed that her husband, Steve, feels the same way about their participation.
Married to Medicine airs on Bravo on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
