The animated series concluded its wild two-season run with a holiday episode that delivered a shocking ending for the much-discussed Antichrist baby storyline and brought back some classic characters.

The finale, titled “The Crap Out,” aired on December 10, 2025, at 10:00 PM ET on Comedy Central. The episode wrapped up a headline-making year for the show, which began with a brutal parody of Donald Trump’s presidency in its Season 27 premiere last summer. For those who missed the live broadcast, the episode became available for streaming on Paramount+ on December 11.

What Happened in the Season 28 Finale Episode

The plot centered on the impending birth of the Antichrist, the child of Satan and President Donald Trump. As Satan prepared a nursery in the White House, Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance were secretly conspiring to kill the unborn baby to protect Vance’s position. Disguised as Salvation Army volunteers, they traveled to South Park to jailbreak billionaire Peter Thiel, who had previously been trying to stop the birth.

Meanwhile, a despondent Stan Marsh prayed for a Christmas miracle. His family had lost their home, and he found no help from a newly transformed Jesus Christ, who had adopted a shallow, right-wing persona. Stan’s plea did summon a holiday miracleโ€”but not the one he expected. Instead of the friendly Mr. Hankey the Christmas Poo, Stan was met by the return of the evil Woodland Critters, the satanic forest animals from a classic 2004 Christmas episode.

Towelie, who reappeared after eight episodes, explained the situation to a confused Satan: “What’s going on is the most exquisitely woven tapestry of ideas that you’ve ever seen”.

All parties converged at a South Park hospital for a final showdown. Satan, Stan, and the Woodland Critters wanted the baby born, while Trump, Vance, Thiel, and Jesus aimed to stop it. At the last moment, Stan’s words prompted Jesus to abandon Trump and regain his moral compass. However, a doctor then delivered unexpected news.

The Shocking Fate of the Antichrist Baby

The central storyline reached a dark and abrupt conclusion. The doctor announced that the baby had died by suicide in the womb. An ultrasound shown to the characters revealed the fetus had hung itself, but the footage was missing a few key minutes.

This twist served as a clear parody of the controversial death of Jeffrey Epstein, the financier and convicted sex trafficker who died in his jail cell in 2019. Epstein’s death, officially ruled a suicide by hanging, was also surrounded by missing surveillance footage and fueled widespread conspiracy theories. The show’s creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, used the analogy to deliver one final satirical jab.

Following the news, Trump returned to the White House to celebrate, handing out cigars that read “It’s a Dead”. A heartbroken Satan packed up the nursery and left the White House for good, lamenting his poor choice in partners. Despite the dark main plot, the episode ended on a hopeful note for Stan. A redeemed Jesus granted him his Christmas miracle, returning his family’s home to them exactly as it was before their troubles began.

The Major Character Returns Fans Didn’t Expect

The finale was packed with callbacks to past seasons, rewarding long-time viewers. The most significant return was the Woodland Christmas Critters. These cute but murderous animals, who first appeared in the Season 8 episode “Woodland Critter Christmas,” arrived to help Satan and witness the Antichrist’s birth. Their appearance surprised fans who expected the holiday special to feature Mr. Hankey.

Other returning elements included:

  • Towelie, the sentient towel, who provided crucial exposition while covered in bodily fluids.
  • Mr. Mackey, the former school counselor, seen complaining about his life ruined by the Trump economy.
  • Labubu decorations, the demonic plush toys from an earlier episode, hung on Satan’s Christmas tree.

The episode also concluded the season’s running joke about a transformed Jesus Christ. After becoming a “Twisted Christian” earlier in the season, Jesus was shown as a muscle-bound, insensitive guidance counselor with a surgically-enhanced girlfriend named Peggy Rockbottom. His redemption at the end provided a key emotional beat for Stan’s story.
