The wait is almost over for fans of the popular fantasy light novel series The Level 999 Villager. The anime adaptation now has a fixed premiere month, and the team behind it has dropped a brand-new trailer along with a list of new voice actors joining the project. The show is scheduled to start airing in Japan this July 2026 on TV Tokyo, BS Fuji, and other channels .
The production team at Brains Base, the studio known for works like Natsume’s Book of Friends and Durarara!!, released the first promotional video and a second teaser visual on February 19, 2026 . This update gives viewers their best look yet at the world of Earthqualia and the characters who will bring this story to life.
What Is The Level 999 Villager About?
For those new to the series, The Level 999 Villager (originally titled LV999 no Murabito) is set in a world called Earthqualia, a place of swords and sorcery where every person is born with a specific class or role . These roles range from powerful positions like Warrior, Sage, and Hero down to the most common and weakest class of all: the Villager .
The story follows Koji Kagami, a young man who was born into this “villager” class. Villagers typically have no combat skills and live peaceful lives farming or running shops. But Koji is different. Despite having the weakest class, he has somehow reached the maximum level of 999 . His life takes a turn when he meets Alice, the daughter of the Demon Lord. Together with their companions, they begin a journey to find a way for humans and demons to coexist in a world that expects them to be enemies .
The original light novel series was written by Koneko Hoshitsuki with illustrations by Fuumi. It was serialized online from 2015 to 2018 and later published in print by Kadokawa. The series has sold over 3.8 million copies across its eight volumes . A manga adaptation by Kenichi Iwamoto has also been running in Comp Ace magazine since 2017, with the 20th compiled volume set for release on February 25, 2026 .

Nobunaga Shimazaki (Rex) shared that he personally followed this series and saw it complete over six years ago. He never expected to be part of the anime adaptation. He hopes the series gets adapted all the way to the end of the original story.
Manaka Iwami (Krull) mentioned that Krull is serious and has a strong sense of justice but shows an interesting side from the middle of the story. She said the recording sessions have a warm atmosphere.
Aoi Koga (Tina) found herself saying “I see” out loud while reading the story because of how the plot develops. She described Tina as shy at first but gradually becoming more reliable.
