The internet went wild when video surfaced of Alan Ritchson, the massive star of “Reacher,” getting into a physical fight with a neighbor in Brentwood, Tennessee. Now, newly released police records and bodycam footage give a much clearer picture of what happened on March 22.

At first, clips shared by TMZ made it look like the actor was the aggressor, appearing to punch a man named Ronnie Taylor on the ground. But the full story, backed by video from Ritchson’s own camera and police reports, shows a very different version of events. Police have officially closed the case, ruling that Ritchson acted in self-defense.

What the New Bodycam Footage Shows

The newly released case file from the Brentwood Police Department includes video recorded directly from Ritchson’s phone during the incident. The footage shows the actor riding his bright green Kawasaki motorcycle through the neighborhood with his children.

Ronnie Taylor suddenly steps into the street to block the bike. The move forces Ritchson to brake hard, causing him to flip head-first over the handlebars. On the video, Ritchson can be heard yelling, “[Expletive] kidding me, dude?” followed by, “Stand in front of my bike again, dude… you threatened my [expletive] safety.”

Police body camera footage captured the aftermath. When officers arrived, they took pictures of both men’s injuries, listing both as “victim” and “suspect” on the report. One officer is heard on the video saying, “You know who that is, right? Why is that address familiar? ‘Reacher.’”

Ritchson’s Account: ‘The Only Aggressor Was This Dude’

When officers went to Alan Ritchson’s home to get his side of the story, the actor did not hold back. He told police clearly that Taylor was the one who started the trouble.

“The only person endangering anybody here was this dude. The only aggressor was this dude.” – Alan Ritchson to Brentwood Police

Ritchson explained that Taylor jumped in front of his bike, causing the crash. He also claimed that even after trying to walk away, Taylor kept pushing him. The “Reacher” star suffered a minor injury to his finger, along with cuts and bruises from falling off the motorcycle.

Neighbor Ronnie Taylor Admits He Shoved First

The most important detail in the police file is the neighbor’s own admission. Ronnie Taylor spoke to TMZ about the incident and confessed that he was the one who made the first physical move.

Taylor said he was upset because he thought Ritchson was speeding on his motorcycle through the neighborhood. He admitted to confronting the actor on two separate days.

“I did push him because he was coming toward me on his bike. He did it again for a second time. I pushed him a second time, and I think the second time he got off his bike and kicked the crap outta me.” – Ronnie Taylor

Taylor also acknowledged that he had been drinking. On the police body camera footage, he told officers, “Yeah, I had a drink while watching the soccer today.”

Police and Prosecutors Clear the ‘Reacher’ Star

After reviewing all the evidence—including the bodycam footage, witness statements, and Taylor’s own admission of pushing first—the authorities made their decision. Brentwood Police Captain Steven Pepin announced that Alan Ritchson would not face any criminal charges.

“Mr. Ritchson’s actions were found to be in self-defense. Although a potential reckless endangerment charge was considered, Mr. Ritchson declined to pursue charges. With the agreement of the district attorney’s office, the case is now closed, and no further action will be taken.” – Captain Steven Pepin, Brentwood Police

Prosecutors noted that Ritchson could have pressed charges against Taylor for causing the motorcycle crash, but he chose not to.

Alan Ritchson’s Social Media Post

While Alan Ritchson has not held a press conference or released a formal statement about the fight, he did speak to his fans through social media. Shortly after the video went viral, the actor posted a quote attributed to Napoleon Bonaparte on his Instagram.

The quote read: “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.”

Fans quickly understood the meaning. Without saying a word, Ritchson hinted that Taylor’s aggressive actions backfired. The post has gained massive attention, with many followers supporting the actor.

Who Is Alan Ritchson?

For those who might not know, Alan Ritchson is the star of the hit Amazon Prime series “Reacher.” He plays Jack Reacher, a former military police officer who solves crimes and beats up bad guys. The role has made him famous worldwide for his tough-guy image.

Ritchson, 43, has also appeared in “Fast X,” “Titans,” “Smallville” (as Aquaman), and the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” movies. He has been married to his wife Catherine since 2006, and they have three sons together. His two sons were with him on the motorcycle ride when the fight happened.

The Aftermath and Where Things Stand

The fight lasted about two and a half minutes before Ritchson rode away. Photos shared after the incident showed Ronnie Taylor with visible bruising and swelling on his face.

Despite Taylor’s injuries, the law is on Ritchson’s side. Tennessee law allows a person to use force to defend themselves if they reasonably believe it is necessary to protect against an imminent attack. Since Taylor admitted to shoving Ritchson twice and blocked him from leaving, the legal system sided with the actor.

The case is now officially closed, and no further action will be taken against anyone involved.
