The June 6, 2026 episode of My Royal Nemesis gave viewers everything they wanted and then shattered it in the final minutes. Kang Dan-sim (played by Lim Ji-yeon) and Cha Se-gye (played by Heo Nam-jun) finally started dating after she told him the truth about her Joseon past. They shared sweet dates, cute arguments, and real promises. But the episode ended with a truck crashing into a restaurant, leaving Kang covered in blood as her phone rang with Se-gye’s call. The show also hit number one ratings with a peak of 11.3%, proving audiences cannot get enough of this wild romance.
Kang and Se-gye Finally Become an Official Couple
Three months have passed since the ill-omen star appeared and Kang Dan-sim traveled from the Joseon dynasty to modern-day Seoul. Episode 10 opens with Kang finally telling Se-gye everything about her past life as a royal consort and how she ended up inside the body of struggling actress Shin Seo-ri. Instead of running away, Se-gye accepts the truth. The two agree to be together officially.
Se-gye wants to take things slow because Kang comes from a very conservative time period. But Kang has no patience for slow. She showers him with kisses and makes the first move. Manager Gu walks in on them, and the awkwardness that follows is pure comedy. Kang also takes herbal medicines home even though Se-gye thinks they are a total scam. She does not care. She is living life on her own terms now.
Kang visits Grandma Nam and shares her new motto: live life to the fullest. She buys boxes of apples and hands them out to everyone she knows. But Gwang-nam (played by Kim Min-seok) notices the apples at the bottom are rotten. Grandma got scammed by the apple seller. Unfortunately, she has already sent one box to Se-gye. He gets super excited and babbles like a lovesick fool to his assistant Son. He only falters when Son jokes that the gifts are all about health because Kang doubts Se-gye’s “stamina.”
Kang Promises to Never Leave Se-gye Alone
Kang plans a series of dates throughout Episode 10. She is surprisingly romantic, which flusters Se-gye. Chaos follows when they go on the Namsan cable car, and Kang realizes she is scared of heights. Later, Se-gye asks her to sleep over, and she teases him about it. But then he confesses something honest. He tells her he is lonely. Kang remembers his aunts spying on her earlier and realizes he has no real family support. She promises to stay by his side.
Shin Seo-ri told Cha Se-gye, “I am not a woman from Joseon anymore. I will not hold back my feelings or suffer alone.” She also promised him, “I will not leave you alone. You can trust me.” Cha Se-gye answered, “You promised, Shin Seo-ri. There is no turning back now.”
Chail Group Power Struggle Intensifies Between Se-gye and Mun-do
The fight for control of Chail Group takes another turn in Episode 10. Choi Mun-do (played by Jang Seung-jo) begs on his knees for a second chance after being pushed aside by Chairman Dal-su (played by Yoon Joo-sang). Dal-su used Mun-do’s ambition to keep the company running. But once Se-gye became the ideal heir, Dal-su kicked Mun-do out. Dal-su claims he is doing Mun-do a favor by giving him a break. Se-gye watches this and feels impressed by how brutal Dal-su can be.
Se-gye agrees to take over Chail Group but has one condition. He wants his engagement to Tae-hee (played by Chae Seo-an) canceled. Dal-su gets upset and starts thinking about his own son instead. At the board meeting, Mun-do’s followers worry that Se-gye might push them out. Se-gye interrupts and puts them all in their place. He demands that Mun-do stop playing games in the shadows and face him directly.
Se-gye tells Mun-do, “Stop playing tricks from behind and come at me directly.”
Mun-do Strikes Back by Targeting Grandma Nam
Mun-do cannot win at the office, so he goes after Kang’s family instead. Grandma Nam experiences another dazed episode. In that vulnerable state, Mun-do buys her restaurant out from under her. Kang gets furious when she learns what happened. She visits Mun-do and declares that he does not scare her anymore. A flashback shows the King explaining his actions to Kang in the past. He asks her to join him to serve the nation. She agrees, hoping it will help Prince Cheongheon return to the palace one day.
Se-gye arrives at Mun-do’s location and punches him. He points out that the sale is not legal because it involved abduction and entrapment. On the way home, Se-gye shouts at Kang for handling the situation alone. He insists on fighting her battles for her. Kang hates that he treats her like a damsel who cannot handle herself. She tells him he hurt her more by treating her like someone who knows nothing.
The Truck Crash Ending Leaves Kang’s Fate Unknown
The final scene of Episode 10 delivers the biggest shock of the season so far. Kang heads to her regular lunch spot, and Dal-su shows up. He tries to convince her that as a lonely nobody, she cannot properly love Se-gye. He says that people who are both lonely should not lean on each other. He argues that they should only want what is best for Se-gye.
Kang wants to patch things up with Se-gye after their fight. He calls her, and she is about to pick up the phone. That is when a white truck crashes into the restaurant. The vehicle hits the area where Kang and Dal-su are sitting. Both end up on the floor, covered in blood. Kang loses consciousness as her phone continues to rattle with Se-gye’s call.
The preview for Episode 11 shows that the crash might send Kang back to the Joseon era. She will have to face the evil king who signed her death warrant all over again. And Se-gye will be left with the real Seo-ri, who does not even know him.
