BLACKPINK fans are expressing disappointment after noticing Lisa appears for only 3 seconds in the group’s new DEADLINE world tour trailer. The 1-minute-30-second video shows Jennie, Jisoo and Rosé prominently but gives Lisa significantly less exposure, sparking accusations of unfair treatment from the artist’s management.
Lisa Gets Shortest Screen Time in Group Promo
The official tour trailer released on June 25 shows each BLACKPINK member during their solo career highlights. Jennie appears for 15 seconds showcasing her solo work and fashion projects. Jisoo gets 12 seconds focusing on her acting debut in Snowdrop. Rosé has 10 seconds highlighting her solo music releases.
Lisa appears briefly at the 1:10 mark for just 3 seconds with quick flashes of her Money performance and LALISA promotions. This noticeable difference has upset many fans who expected equal representation for all four members.
“Why is Lisa getting treated like a backup dancer? She’s the main dancer and rapper but gets less than 5% of the trailer time. This isn’t fair,” wrote one fan on Twitter.
Fan Reactions to the Unequal Representation
BLACKPINK’s fanbase BLINKs have been vocal about the issue across social media platforms. Many are using hashtags like #TreatLisaFairly and #YGGiveLisaEqualScreentime to express their frustration.
On YouTube, the trailer’s comments section shows thousands of fans pointing out the imbalance. Some comments with thousands of likes state:
“They really did Lisa dirty with this editing. All members should get equal importance in group content.”
“As a BLINK since debut, I’ve never seen such obvious favoritism in official content before. Disappointed but not surprised.”
Data from social media monitoring shows over 250,000 tweets about the issue in the first 12 hours after the trailer’s release. About 78% of these expressed support for Lisa, while 15% defended the editing choices and 7% remained neutral.
History of Fan Concerns About Lisa’s Treatment
This isn’t the first time fans have raised concerns about Lisa’s treatment compared to other BLACKPINK members. In 2023, some noticed Lisa often stood at the edges during group photoshoots. Earlier this year, fans calculated she got the least solo lines in the group’s recent single.
However, YG Entertainment has previously stated all BLACKPINK members receive equal opportunities and compensation. The agency’s 2024 shareholder report showed all four members renewed their contracts under similar terms.
Industry insiders note that trailer editing often considers various factors beyond simple fairness. A music video director who worked with YG commented anonymously:
“Trailers prioritize what looks most dynamic. Sometimes certain members’ footage just edits together better. It’s rarely intentional sidelining.”
BLACKPINK’s Upcoming DEADLINE World Tour
The controversy comes as BLACKPINK prepares for their massive DEADLINE world tour starting July 15 in Seoul. The group will perform in 25 cities across Asia, North America and Europe through March 2026.
Tour organizers have confirmed all four members will have equal stage time and solo segments during concerts. Presale tickets for most dates sold out within minutes, showing the group’s continued massive popularity.
