The third season of Apple TV+‘s comedy Loot has arrived, picking up right where the chaos left off. The two-episode premiered on October 15, 2025 finds billionaire Molly Wells and her assistant Nicholas on a deserted tropical island after their private jet crash. However, the situation is not what it seems. The show quickly reestablishes its signature blend of absurd humor and character-driven stories, kicking off a new chapter for the Wells Foundation team.
The Island Wellness Retreat That Wasn’t Real
The premiere episode, titled “Bye-Bye Mode,” reveals that the dramatic crash landing was an elaborate ruse. Nicholas orchestrated the entire scenario as an unconventional wellness retreat for Molly. The “deserted” island is actually one of Molly’s many properties, a luxury resort she acquired in her divorce settlement and had completely forgotten she owned. A full staff was on hand, disguising five-star service as survivalism, from creating makeshift shelters to concocting island versions of Molly’s favorite foods.
The illusion begins to crack when the rest of the Wells Foundation teamโSofia, Howard, and Rhondaโarrives to bring Molly back to Los Angeles. Sofia, frustrated at having to trek across the beach in heels, is the one who ultimately reveals the truth to Molly. Instead of being angry, Molly is enchanted by the island and considers staying there permanently, forcing the team to find a way off. Their escape plan leads them to the other side of the island, which is home to a nudist colony for seniors called Vagine.
Meeting a Coconut-Oiling Billionaire Nudist
The key to leaving the island involves negotiating with Gerald Canning, the billionaire who owns the neighboring property. Played by guest star Henry Winkler, Gerald is a free-spirited nudist who made his fortune by inventing GPS technology. He now spends his days relaxing and, in one of the episode’s running visual gags, lubricating all his furniture with coconut oil.
Co-creator Matt Hubbard explained the reasoning behind introducing this character, stating, โOne reason we put another billionaire in the premiere is because, as this show has gone on, billionaires have become a part of our lives in the real world.โ Gerald represents a different path for a billionaireโone focused entirely on personal pleasure, which contrasts with Molly’s growing desire to use her wealth for charitable purposes. Molly eventually brokers a deal with Gerald to use his ferry, allowing her friends to depart.
Molly and Arthur’s Relationship Finally Begins
Just as Molly’s team is leaving, a surprise visitor arrives on the island: Arthur. The foundation’s accountant, who Molly confessed her love for in the Season 2 finale, arrives and reciprocates her feelings. This resolves the cliffhanger from last season, where Arthur was dating someone else. The two share a kiss on the beach, and Molly decides to return to her life in LA with him.
The second episode, “Would Hit,” focuses on Molly and Arthur navigating their new relationship. Nicholas struggles with the change, seeing the romance as a disruption to his life’s work of managing Molly. He tries to control the relationship by giving Arthur a comprehensive binder detailing all of Molly’s likes and dislikes. His advice backfires spectacularly when he suggests Arthur wear a gold chain to look trendier, resulting in Arthur having a severe allergic reaction that nearly kills him. The incident becomes a turning point, allowing Molly to step up and save Arthur, proving she doesn’t need to be micromanaged.
New Dynamics for the Supporting Cast
The premiere episodes also seed new storylines for the rest of the ensemble. Sofia is shown to have been in a relationship with architect Isaac for nine months, a detail that promises more exploration of her personal life. The episode also introduces Destiny, Sofia’s larger-than-life sister played by X Mayo. Her presence pushes the usually stern Sofia to loosen up and reveals new sides of her character.
Meanwhile, Rhonda seems to find her place among the nudists at Vagine, fitting in perfectly with the colony’s free-spirited lifestyle. The show continues to balance its large cast effectively, giving each character moments to shine without pulling focus from the main narrative.
A Strong Start to the New Season
The two-episode premiere successfully reestablishes what fans love about Loot: sharp jokes about extreme wealth, physical comedy, and a surprising amount of heart. The first episode delivers big laughs with its absurd island premise and Henry Winkler’s scene-stealing performance, while the second episode settles into a more familiar rhythm, exploring the consequences of the new central romance. With Molly now moving from the “defensive to the offensive” in her philanthropic mission, the stage is set for a season of growth and new challenges for the entire Wells Foundation team.
New episodes of Loot are released every Wednesday on Apple TV+, with the season finale scheduled for December 10, 2025.
