The latest episode of South Park continues the show’s tradition of tackling current events, this time targeting AI-generated content and the ongoing political saga between Donald Trump and JD Vance. “Sora Not Sorry,” the third episode of season 28, blends schoolyard antics with White House drama, showing how artificial intelligence complicates both worlds.
Episode Plot and AI Satire
Butters Stotch creates a school-wide scandal after using an AI video generator called Sora 2 for revenge against his ex-girlfriend, Red. He makes a fake video showing her in a compromising situation with Santa Claus. Red retaliates with her own AI-generated video featuring Butters and the Studio Ghibli character Totoro.
The situation escalates as other students begin creating and sharing their own fake videos. Detective Harrison Yates is called to the school but struggles to tell the difference between AI fiction and reality. He and his partner eventually dress as cartoon characters Rocky and Bullwinkle to go undercover and gain the students’ trust.
The episode includes a pointed critique of AI’s impact on creative work. Lawyers representing the cartoon companies sue Butters and Kenny, with one creator angrily stating, “It takes hundreds of artists three years to make Totoro. And in two minutes you spit out your shit. You cannot just do whatever you want with someone’s IP!”
Trump and Vance’s Storyline Continues
The political subplot advances with Donald Trump and JD Vance navigating their unusual partnership. In a notable scene, the two are shown getting intimate in a hot tub at the White House to the sounds of Foreigner’s music, later moving to the Lincoln Bedroom.
Meanwhile, billionaire Peter Thiel continues to hold Eric Cartman captive, believing the possessed boy is key to stopping the Antichrist’s birth. Thiel uses the Sora AI to create fake videos of Cartman to send to his mother, though Cartman complains the content is outdated.
The episode concludes with police arresting Thiel after tracing his AI videos. During the investigation, they discover security footage of Trump and Vance’s encounter. When Fox News obtains the footage, Trump dismisses it as fake, claiming “It’s fake โ it’s all Sora 2.”
Show’s Political Focus and Creator Perspective
The continued political focus this season reflects the creators’ view that politics has become inseparable from pop culture. Trey Parker explained this shift in a recent interview: “It’s not that we got all political. It’s that politics became pop culture. It’s like the government is just in your face everywhere you look.”
Despite the heavy political content, Parker emphasized that he and Matt Stone remain “very down-the-middle guys” who mock extremists of all kinds. The show previously spent years satirizing “woke” culture before turning its attention to current political figures.
Release Details and Season Schedule
South Park season 28 episode 3 aired on Comedy Central on November 12, 2025. The episode became available for streaming on Paramount+ on November 13.
The show has maintained a bi-weekly release pattern throughout the season, with some schedule adjustments. The remaining episodes of season 28 are scheduled for release on November 26 and December 10.
This release structure allows creators Parker and Stone to maintain their rapid production process, which enables them to respond to current events within days.
