After a shocking grenade incident left viewers on the edge of their seats, the story of Carol Sturka and the hive mind continues in Pluribus Episode 4, titled “Please, Carol.” The next chapter of Vince Gilligan’s new sci-fi thriller arrives on Apple TV+ on Friday, November 21, 2025. The episode will be available to stream at 9 p.m. Eastern Time / 6 p.m. Pacific Time. For many viewers, new episodes often appear on the platform a few hours early, sometimes as early as 9 p.m. ET on Thursday evening.

The upcoming episode picks up after a tense lesson: the hive-minded “Others” do not understand sarcasm and will fulfill any literal request, a dangerous reality for the last immune woman on Earth.

The Story So Far: A World Transformed by Happiness

Pluribus, created by Vince Gilligan of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, introduces a world overturned by an alien phenomenon known as “the Joining.” A mysterious signal from space contained an RNA sequence for a virus that spread globally, killing millions and transforming the rest of humanity into a single, peaceful, and relentlessly helpful hive mind. Only thirteen people are immune, including Carol Sturka, a fantasy romance novelist played by Rhea Seehorn.

Carol is the “most miserable person on Earth” and now must navigate a world where her every word is taken at face value. Her main point of contact is Zosia, a member of the hive mind played by Karolina Wydra. The series follows Carol as she struggles with her grief and anger in a world that has eliminated all negative emotions.

What to Expect in Episode 4: “Please, Carol”

The third episode, “Grenade,” ended with a violent climax. After Carol sarcastically asked for a hand grenade, the hive mind provided one. Believing it to be a fake, Carol pulled the pin during an emotional argument with Zosia. The grenade was real, and Zosia was injured while throwing it to safety, saving Carol’s life. In the aftermath, Carol realized the hive mind cannot comprehend sarcasm and would give her anything she asks for, even a nuclear weapon.

In Episode 4, “Please, Carol,” the official description from Apple TV+ states that “Carol tests the boundaries of this weirdly honest world at the expense of her ego.” Meanwhile, “Far away, a resolute individual learns heโ€™s not alone.” This suggests the story may expand to focus on another immune survivor, potentially Carlos Manuel Vesga’s character, Manousos.
