The CBS comedy DMV continues its first season with a business trip that shakes the confidence of its optimistic manager. In the seventh episode, titled “There Is No I in DMV,” Barb leads her team on a visit to a highly successful rival branch, where she meets a charismatic manager who makes her question her own abilities. Meanwhile, back at the East Hollywood office, coworkers Gregg and Vic cook up a scheme to convince Colette that their colleague Noa is attracted to risk-takers.
The episode is scheduled to air on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 9:30 PM ET/PT on the CBS television network. For viewers who stream their shows, the episode will be available on Paramount+. Premium subscribers can watch it live or on-demand on the same day, while essential subscribers gain access the following day.
Episode Synopsis: A Trip to North Hollywood
The central plot of the episode follows Barb, the well-meaning but often flustered manager of the East Hollywood DMV, as she takes her staff to visit the North Hollywood branch. The purpose of the trip is to study the secrets behind their notable success. However, the visit takes an unexpected personal turn for Barb when she meets the North Hollywood manager, Beau.
Beau’s charm and evident success in running his branch immediately cause Barb to doubt her own leadership skills and management style. This encounter sparks a significant internal conflict for a character who has always taken great pride in her dedication to the team.
A separate storyline developing within the office involves Colette and her ongoing crush on coworker Noa. Gregg and Vic, two of her other colleagues, decide to play matchmakerโor perhaps mischief-makerโby convincing Colette that Noa has a thing for people who take risks. This advice will likely lead Colette down a path of awkward and humorous attempts to get Noa’s attention.
Cast and Characters: Who Appears in Episode 7
The episode features the return of the show’s main ensemble cast, ensuring all the familiar faces from the DMV are present. The cast includes:
- Harriet Dyer as Colette, the driving examiner with poor boundaries and a big heart.
- Tim Meadows as Gregg, the grumpy driving examiner and former English teacher.
- Tony Cavalero as Vic, the driving examiner and former bouncer.
- Molly Kearney as Barbara (Barb), the newly promoted and overly optimistic branch manager.
- Alex Tarrant as Noa, the charming new hire from New Zealand.
- Gigi Zumbado as Ceci, the blunt and scrappy DMV photographer.
Adding to the dynamic of this episode is a special guest appearance by Randall Park, who plays Beau, the manager of the rival North Hollywood DMV branch. His character’s success and charisma are the direct cause of Barb’s self-doubt in the story.
A Look Back at Episode 6: “Blindspot”
The previous episode, which aired on November 17, set the stage for some of the ongoing character dynamics. Colette was heartbroken to discover that her crush, Noa, was officially dating someone else. Her friend Ceci responded by encouraging Colette to use magic to win him back, which involved a ritual with a photograph and a red string placed in a freezer. This left Noa confused and panicked when he discovered it.
Meanwhile, Barb was dealing with a separate office crisis. She launched an internal investigation to find out who was defacing the DMV’s safety posters with drawings that looked like childish scribbles of rockets to her, but resembled male anatomy to everyone else. The mystery was solved when it was revealed a child waiting in line was the one drawing the rockets.
