Paramount+ has officially confirmed that Tulsa King will return for a fourth season. The series, starring Sylvester Stallone as mafia capo Dwight “The General” Manfredi, was renewed ahead of its third-season premiere and is already in production. Terence Winter, the original showrunner, is back as head writer, and new cast members are joining the expanding criminal universe.

The Official Renewal and Production Status

Tulsa King was renewed for a fourth season by Paramount+ on September 17, 2025, the same day the show’s third season premiered. The streaming service highlighted that the second season was its number one original series globally in 2024. The premiere episode of Season 2 attracted 21.1 million global streaming viewers, setting a record for the most-watched global premiere on Paramount+ at that time.

Production for the new season is already moving forward. Sylvester Stallone announced the start of filming in a video posted on November 11, 2025, telling fans, “Welcome one and all. Guess what? We’re back on set of Tulsa King, and this is the beginning of the fourth season. I can’t wait.”

Behind-the-Scenes Leadership and Changes

Significant creative changes are happening behind the camera for the new season. Terence Winter, the showrunner for Season 1 and an executive producer on Season 2, has returned as the head writer and executive producer for Season 4. He replaces Dave Erickson, who was the showrunner for Season 3.

However, reports indicate the production is proceeding without a formal, on-set showrunner. Instead, Scott Stone, an executive from the production company 101 Studios, is acting as the de facto showrunner on the ground in Atlanta, working with unit production managers but not involved in the writing or directing.

Just before filming began, 26 crew members across various departments, including stunts, sound, and transportation, were let go. Emmy-nominated stunt coordinator Freddie Poole, who had worked with Stallone for 14 years, was among those released. He commented on the process, stating, “The manner in which this was done was just unprofessional and unnecessary.”

What to Expect in Season 4

While the official plot for Season 4 is under wraps, the story will continue to follow Dwight Manfredi as he builds his criminal empire in Tulsa. The third season saw Dwight’s business expand into the bourbon industry, bringing him into conflict with the powerful, old-money Dunmire family. This rivalry is expected to continue into the new season.

Stallone previously hinted that the conflict with Jeremiah Dunmire, played by Robert Patrick, would be a central theme. He told TV Insider, “Youโ€™ll come across him in this season, but itโ€™s a matter of, he has to just eventually throw down and say, โ€˜I know youโ€™re going to try to kill me. So weโ€™re going to try to work this out, or one of us has got to go.’ Thatโ€™s the theme, and it starts to play out through all 10 episodes. It continues into the next season.”

The upcoming season will also further develop the character of Russell Lee Washington Jr., played by Samuel L. Jackson, setting the stage for his planned spinoff series, NOLA King.

New and Returning Faces

While the full cast list depends on who survives the Season 3 finale, Sylvester Stallone will undoubtedly return as Dwight Manfredi. The show’s large ensemble cast is also expected to return.

A significant new addition is Gretchen Mol, who has joined the series as a regular for Season 4. She will play Amanda Clark, a Tulsa politician. This marks a reunion for Mol and head writer Terence Winter, who previously worked together on the HBO series Boardwalk Empire.

Release Date and How to Watch

Paramount+ has not yet announced an official release date for Tulsa King Season 4. Looking at the show’s previous release pattern provides a clue to its potential premiere window. Season 1 debuted in November 2022, Season 2 in September 2024, and Season 3 in September 2025. Based on this schedule, it is likely that Season 4 will premiere in the fall of 2026.

All episodes of Tulsa King, including the Season 3 finale, are available to stream exclusively on Paramount+.
