Jason Isaacs, known for playing Tim Ratliff in The White Lotus Season 3, has earned a Golden Globe nomination. The actor shared his excitement and thanked the show’s creator, Mike White, for the role. Isaacs is nominated in the category for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role on Television.
This marks the actor’s second Golden Globe nomination. His first was 17 years ago for the BBC series The State Within, but that ceremony was canceled due to a writers’ strike. The White Lotus itself received six Golden Globe nominations for its third season, the most of any television series this year.
The 83rd Annual Golden Globes ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, January 11, 2026. It will air live on CBS at 8:00 PM Eastern Time and 5:00 PM Pacific Time. The show will also be available to stream on Paramount+ in the United States.
Jason Isaacs Credits Mike White and the Show’s Creative Freedom
In his reaction, Jason Isaacs was quick to praise Mike White, the creator, writer, and director of The White Lotus. He directly connected his nomination to White’s exceptional storytelling.
โItโs a reminder when fabulous things like this happen to follow the great writing,โ Isaacs said. โItโs not a coincidence that so many people from White Lotus have been nominated. Heโs a phenomenal storyteller, Mike White, if youโre lucky enough to be picked.โ
Isaacs described the unique atmosphere on set, which he compared to the creative freedom of a theater festival. He emphasized that despite the show’s large scale and success, White fostered an environment where the best idea could come from anywhere.
The actor also reflected on the irony of celebrating such a glamorous award for playing a character in profound despair. Tim Ratliff, the family patriarch he portrayed, is depicted as financially troubled and suicidal throughout the season. Isaacs noted that the joy of the event would come from reuniting with his castmates from the Thailand shoot.
A Busy Actor Moving On to New Projects
Despite the awards buzz, Jason Isaacs has already moved on to new work. He expressed enthusiasm about returning to acting after a long period of publicity for the HBO series.
The actor revealed he recently completed three films back-to-back. These projects include:
- Victorian Psycho, filmed in Dublin.
- Eleven Days, directed by Peter Landesman and starring Diego Luna and Rhea Seehorn.
- The Julia Set, which reunited him with co-star Gillian Anderson.
Isaacs stated that this return to performing has re-energized him, reminding him that his primary job is to tell stories.
Looking Back at Season 3 and Ahead to Season 4
The White Lotus Season 3 was set in Thailand and followed a new group of guests and employees at a luxury resort. The ensemble cast included Parker Posey, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Walton Goggins, and Carrie Coon. The season concluded with significant drama for Isaacs’s character, Tim Ratliff, and his family.
The show has been renewed for a fourth season, which will be set in the South of France. Although Isaacs will not be returning as his character’s story concluded, he expressed excitement as a fan. He mentioned that Mike White and the team are already deep into planning for the next installment.
โI know theyโre already getting geared upโฆ. Iโve got friends in it already, and Iโm trying not to be jealous,โ Isaacs said. โIโll definitely go and visit. But even though this nomination is an absolute cherry on the entire celebratory cake, Iโm aware that Iโm already one of the guys who was in last seasonโs White Lotus.โ

A Call to Support Cinemas
Beyond discussing his nomination, Jason Isaacs ended his interview with a strong opinion about the film industry. He issued a public call to support movie theaters, which he believes are under threat.
โPeople actually leaving their house and watching it on a big screen in the company of other people is the most important thingโฆ Itโs that we tell stories to each other, with each other,โ he said. He encouraged people to go out to the cinema to help ensure filmmakers can continue to fund and make films.
The 83rd Golden Globes will be hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser for the second year in a row. The ceremony will be broadcast globally and is viewed in more than 185 countries and territories.
