Fans of Tom Hardyโs gritty crime drama will not have to wait long for the showโs return. Paramount+ has confirmed that MobLand Season 2 will premiere in 2026, a quick turnaround following the show’s successful debut.
The news came through a recent streaming service advertisement narrated by the show’s own Helen Mirren. In the promo, which highlighted Paramount+’s upcoming 2026 lineup, MobLand was listed among the platform’s “returning favorites”. This announcement ends months of speculation about the show’s future after it was initially renewed back in June 2025.

The Quick Path to Season 2
The swift release plan for MobLand is notable in today’s streaming landscape, where long delays between seasons have become common. Paramount+ has managed to fast-track the series, joining other hit shows like Landman and Dexter: Resurrection in maintaining a yearly release schedule.
The first season launched in March 2025 and quickly became Paramount+’s biggest global series premiere ever. It attracted over 26 million viewers, ranking as the service’s second most-watched show. This strong performance led to an early renewal, with Paramount Global CEO Chris McCarthy calling the series a “resounding triumph” and a “global phenomenon”.
โWe are elated to greenlight a second season of this global phenomenon,โ said Chris McCarthy, President of Showtime/MTV Entertainment.
Cast and Crew Returning for the New Season
The core team behind the series is set to return. Tom Hardy will reprise his role as Harry Da Souza, the skilled fixer for the Harrigan crime family. He will be joined once again by Pierce Brosnan as family patriarch Conrad Harrigan and Helen Mirren as matriarch Maeve Harrigan.
Other major returning stars include Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Toby Jones, Lara Pulver, and Jasmine Jobson. The cast is also expanding, with Johnny Flynn (Beast) and Ophelia Lovibond (Minx) joining the show as new series regulars.
Executive producer and writer Jez Butterworth expressed his excitement about continuing the story. โCollaborating with Chris, David, Guy [Ritchie], and our stellar cast has been nothing short of inspiring and Iโm excited to dive into the second season of MobLand,โ Butterworth stated.
Where Season 1 Left Off and What’s Next
The first season finale, โThe Beast in Me,โ wrapped up a brutal war with rival Richie Stevenson but left many threads dangling. Conrad and Maeve Harrigan were arrested and imprisoned, though their family had the evidence to free them.
Meanwhile, Eddie discovered a shocking truth about his parentage, leading to a violent confrontation. Tom Hardy’s character, Harry, faced threats on multiple fronts: from a new enemy in Kat McAllister and from his own wife, Jan, whose anger resulted in Harry being accidentally stabbed.
Production for the new season is already underway. Actors were spotted filming on location in Mallorca, Spain in late 2025, suggesting the story’s scope is expanding internationally. This aligns with Tom Hardyโs previous hints about the series’ direction.
โThe plan is definitely to see more seasons. The question is: Does it become international?โ Hardy told The Hollywood Reporter. โThere are families that are involved in each European country that are vying for powerโ.
Joanne Froggatt, who plays Jan Da Souza, shared her enthusiasm for returning to the set. โI’m so looking forward to going back to film season two of MobLand. I loved, loved, loved it. It was such a great script and such a great character,โ she said in an interview.
What to Expect from MobLand Season 2
While official plot details are still under wraps, the international filming and comments from the cast point to a broader criminal conflict. The show will likely explore the Harrigan family’s dealings with other European crime syndicates, moving beyond the London underworld.
The personal drama within the Harrigan family is also set to intensify. With the patriarch and matriarch temporarily out of the picture, a power struggle is inevitable. The reveal about Eddieโs true parentage promises to cause further instability and violence within the family.
Fans can expect the same style that made the first season a hit. The series, produced by Guy Ritchie, was praised for its “epic” and “grizzly” storytelling, with a focus on tense family dynamics and moral gray areas. Early teases for the new season promise that “the family ties are tighter. And the loose ends are deadlier”.
MobLand Season 1 is currently available to stream in full on Paramount+. Subscribers in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and other global markets can watch all episodes ahead of the new season’s arrival.
