A judge has thrown out claims that Blake Lively pressured her friend Taylor Swift to support her in a legal fight against Justin Baldoni. The accusations were called “improper” and removed from court records.
The dispute started when Baldoniโs lawyer,ย Bryan Freedman, filed a letter claiming Livelyโs legal team tried to force Swift to publicly back her. The letter also said Lively threatened to release private texts if Swift refused. Judgeย Lewis J. Limanย quickly dismissed these claims, warning Freedman against misusing the courtโs system.
Livelyโs team called the accusations “false” and “inflammatory.” They said the filing was meant to create media drama rather than help the case. Swiftโs team also denied any involvement in the legal battle, saying she had no real connection to the movie It Ends With Us, where Lively and Baldoni worked together.
The legal fight between Lively and Baldoni began in late 2024. Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment during filming, while Baldoni sued her for defamation. The case is set for trial in March 2026.
Baldoniโs team claimed Lively used her friendship with Swift to intimidate him. They said Swift and Ryan Reynolds (Livelyโs husband) pressured Baldoni to accept script changes during a meeting at Livelyโs home. The judge found no proof of these claims and removed them from the case.
Livelyโs spokesperson said the court saw through the “irrelevant and improper” accusations quickly. They added that Freedman was warned about possible sanctions if he misused court filings again.
Swiftโs team has repeatedly said she had no role in the movie beyond allowing her song My Tears Ricochet to be used. They called the subpoena for Swift a publicity stunt meant to grab headlines.
Baldoniโs lawsuit mentions text messages where Lively referred to Swift and Reynolds as her “dragons,” comparing herself to Khaleesi from Game of Thrones. However, the judge ruled these details were not relevant to the main legal issues.
The case continues, with both sides standing firm. No settlement talks have been reported, meaning the dispute will likely go to trial next year.
“It took the court less than 24 hours to see through Mr. Freedmanโs irrelevant, improper and inflammatory accusations, strike them, remove them from the court and warn Mr. Freedman that further misconduct may be met with sanctions,” Livelyโs spokesperson said.
“This is categorically false. We unequivocally deny all of these so-called allegations, which are cowardly sourced to supposed anonymous sources and completely untethered from reality,” Livelyโs lawyer, Michael Gottlieb, said in response to the claims.
“Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie. She was not involved in any casting or creative decisions. She did not score the film. She never saw an edit or made any notes on the film,” Swiftโs representative stated.
