Korean television is gearing up for an exciting 2025 with major broadcasters KBS, MBC, and SBS announcing their drama lineups. Despite the rise of streaming platforms, these channels are set to deliver a diverse range of genres and star-studded casts. KBS’s Diverse Offerings

KBS is preparing a varied selection of dramas. The human thriller A Lucky Day features Lee Young Ae and Kim Young Kwang in a story about a housewife who gets involved with drugs. Undercover High School, featuring Seo Kang Joon and Jin Ki Joo, follows a secret agent posing as a high school student to find missing gold. The black comedy Mary Kills People, a remake of a Canadian series, stars Lee Bo Young and Lee Min Ki as a doctor assisting terminally ill patients with euthanasia while being pursued by a detective. The romantic historical drama 21st-Century Crown Princess, starring IU and Byeon Woo Seok, tells a story of overcoming social class barriers in a constitutional monarchy.

SBS’s Focus on Weekday Dramas

SBS is concentrating on its Wednesday-Thursday dramas. The melodrama Our Film, with Nam Goong Min and Jeon Yeo Been, tells a healing love story between a film director and a terminally ill aspiring actor. The sports drama Try: We Become Miracles, starring Yoon Kye Sang and Im Se Mi, focuses on a struggling rugby team aiming for a national victory. The fantasy romantic comedy Starting Today, I’m Human, starring Kim Hye Yoon and Romon, features a gumiho (nine-tailed fox) who doesn’t want to become human and their connection with a soccer star. The thriller Mantis, starring Go Hyun Jung and Jang Dong Yoon, follows a chilling serial killer story.
