Netflix dropped a new photo from Wednesday season 3 on April 20, 2026, showing Jenna Ortega standing in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The picture features Wednesday Addams holding a piece of paper while Thing (Victor Dorobantu) sits on a motorcycle next to her. The streaming service wrote “From Paris, with dread” as the caption.
The new season started filming in February 2026 near Dublin, Ireland, and has now moved to Paris for outdoor shoots. Production in the French capital began on April 18 and wrapped on-location filming on April 20. Director Tim Burton was seen on set giving directions to Ortega and Fred Armisen, who plays Uncle Fester.
Where Season 2 Ended and Season 3 Picks Up
The second season finished with a major cliffhanger. Emma Myers character Enid Sinclair turned into a full alpha werewolf and ran away. Wednesday jumps into Uncle Fester motorcycle sidecar to go find her best friend. This explains why Wednesday is now in Paris searching for Enid.
Myers previously talked about her character fate saying “She better be back, nobody will tell me anything. She should be.” She also mentioned “I didn’t expect the ending for Enid this season. So when I read that, I was like, whaat!!”
New Cast Members Joining the Show
Several big names have joined the cast for season 3. Eva Green will play Aunt Ophelia, Morticia Addams long-lost sister who first appeared briefly in the season 2 finale. Winona Ryder is also coming on board in a guest role as a character named Tabitha.
Other new additions include Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy, James Lance, Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor, Oscar Morgan, and Kennedy Moyer. The main cast members returning are Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzmán as Gomez, Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin, Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay, Billie Piper as Isodora Capri, and Joanna Lumley as Hester Frump.

Social media lit up after Netflix shared the new image. Fans focused on the search for Enid storyline.
One viewer on X wrote “Daaaamn Enid ran FAR” pointing out how far Wednesday has traveled to find her werewolf roommate. Another fan posted “Wednesday going all the way to Paris just to find Enid. That dedication.”

When Will Season 3 Release
Netflix has not announced an official release date for Wednesday season 3. The show was missing from the streamer 2026 TV lineup announcement. Industry reports point to a 2027 release date because of the long production and post-production schedule required for the series. Season 2 arrived almost three years after the first season, partly due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes.

Ortega shared her hopes for Wednesday in season 3 during earlier interviews. She said “I would like them Morticia and Wednesday to stop arguing and team up. We’d just been talking about women banding together, and you see that a bit in the final episode, or episodes. I think we should lean into that.”
She also added “It’s really exciting and refreshing to see women displayed that way. I think it’s important to see Wednesday deal with the darker side of herself a little bit, too – but also never taking things too seriously. And I would like to see more death attempts between her and Pugsley. She doesn’t try to kill him enough! I want to see stuff like that.”
The official logline for season 3 describes Wednesday Addams as “smart, sarcastic and a little dead inside” as she “investigates twisted mysteries while making new friends — and foes — at Nevermore Academy”.
