That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4 Episode 17 will not air on its original schedule. The episode, initially set for July 31, 2026, has been pushed back by one week due to programming adjustments on Japanese television. The new episode will now release on Friday, August 7, 2026.

The delay affects the NTV broadcast in Japan. In place of Episode 17, a special recap episode titled “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4 Recap – The March of the Monster Nation” will air on BS11 on August 1, 2026, at 10:00 PM JST. This recap will review the key events of Season 4 so far and prepare viewers for the upcoming confrontation with Granville Rozzo.

New Episode Release Date and Time

Episode 17 is now confirmed for Friday, August 7, 2026. The episode will air in Japan on NTV’s “Friday Anime Night” block at 11:00 PM JST. It will also broadcast on BS11 on August 8, 2026, at 10:00 PM JST.

For international viewers, Crunchyroll streams the new episodes on the same day they air in Japan. The platform simulcasts the series across North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS territories. The exact time on Crunchyroll is typically 7:00 AM PT / 10:00 AM ET.

Other streaming options include Crunchyroll Amazon Channel. The series is also available on Netflix in select regions and Muse Asia for audiences in Asia.

Why Episode 17 Was Delayed

The official website for the series announced the schedule change on July 18, 2026. The NTV broadcast on July 31, 2026 was cancelled due to programming reasons.

This is not the first delay for Season 4. Episode 5 was also postponed earlier in the season, moving from May 1 to May 8, 2026, due to scheduling issues around Golden Week. A special recap episode aired in place of Episode 5 as well.

The production team at 8-Bit studio continues to work on the series. Season 4 is the longest season yet, planned for five cours (about 15 months of content). The first two cours are airing continuously without breaks.

What to Expect in Episode 17

Episode 17 is titled “Lubelius, the Point of Convergence” (Japanese: 集束の地ルベリオス). The episode will continue the story following Episode 16, which aired on July 24, 2026.

Episode 16, titled “Gran, the Hero of Dawn,” showed Luminus meeting with Rimuru to discuss Gran and future plans. The episode also covered Rimuru’s ongoing efforts to build alliances between humans and monsters.

The conflict with Granville Rozzo and his granddaughter Maribel Rozzo is reaching a critical point. Granville opposes Rimuru’s vision of coexistence between humans and monsters. He believes humanity should be protected by ruling over them. Meanwhile, Demon Lord Leon is pursuing his own agenda in El Dorado.

Episode 17 will likely show Demon Lord Leon heading toward Lubelius. The stage is set for a major confrontation in the Holy Empire of Lubelius. The recap episode on August 1 will help viewers remember the key plot points leading to this moment.

Season 4 Episode Schedule
