What Happened in the Opening Episodes?
The first two episodes set the stage for Kang Tae-pung’s difficult journey. The story begins in 1997 during South Korea’s severe financial crisis. Kang Tae-pung, played by Lee Jun-ho, is the spoiled son of a successful business owner. He lives a carefree life until his father suddenly passes away, leaving the family company, Typhoon Trading, on the brink of collapse.
Tae-pung is forced to grow up quickly and step into the role of CEO to save his father’s legacy. He is not alone, as the company’s dedicated bookkeeper, Oh Mi-seon (played by Kim Min-ha), becomes his crucial guide. She helps him navigate the business while managing her own family’s struggles.
The second episode ended with a major cliffhanger. Tae-pung, determined to protect the company’s assets, discovers a truck illegally carrying company fabric. The episode concluded with him lying on the road in front of the truck to block its path, leaving his fate unknown.
What to Expect in the Coming Episodes
As the series continues, viewers will see Tae-pung face the immense challenges of running a business during an economic downturn. He will have to make tough decisions and deal with threats from rival business partners. His relationship with the employees, especially Mi-seon, is expected to grow stronger as she continues to support him.
The drama has already broken records, achieving the highest premiere ratings for any tvN weekend drama in 2025. Its mix of family drama, personal growth, and historical setting has quickly attracted a large audience.
