The final season of Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures wrapped up the younglings’ journey on the planet Tenoo with a major lesson about friendship and control. The seven-episode season, which premiered on Disney+ and Disney Jr. on December 8, 2025, concluded with the young Jedi facing their greatest mechanical threat yet: Apexx, a powerful battle droid created by the inventor Rek Minuu. The season finale saw the festival of Tenoo thrown into chaos before a heartfelt resolution offered a positive end to the series.
The Final Showdown at the Welcome Festival
The season builds toward the Welcome Festival, a celebration for new Jedi younglings on Tenoo. Jedi younglings Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, and Nubs are helping with preparations when the event is attacked by a droid army. The mastermind is Apexx, a battle droid built by the season’s new character, Rek Minuu, a mischievous master droidsmith.
Rek created Apexx not for destruction, but because he wanted a friend. However, Apexx takes control using a remote device and begins destroying the festival to frighten the Jedi. When Rek tries to stop his creation, he is captured. The young Jedi initially suspect Rek is behind the attack after he disappears, but they soon discover the truth and find Rek, learning that Apexx has turned against its creator.
How Rek and the Jedi Stopped Apexx
With the festival under siege, the young Jedi attempt to fight Apexx directly. They are joined by Cyrusโformerly the pirate Taborrโwho comes to their aid. Their combined efforts and new combat moves are not enough to stop the droid, whose programming was specifically designed to counter Jedi fighting styles. In a key moment, Kai Brightstar even wields two lightsabers in an attempt to gain an advantage.
The situation is only resolved when Rek Minuu himself steps in. He talks to Apexx, opening up about his true intentions for their friendship and explaining that anger and control are not the answer. This personal appeal reaches Apexx, who reconsiders its actions and gives up the remote control, finally ending the attack and saving the Welcome Festival.
“Rek talks to his invention, Apexx, opening his heart on friendship and how being angry is not the answer. Apexx takes the feelings into consideration and gives up on the remote. This ultimately saves the festival.”
Master Yoda’s Arrival and a Look at the Future
After peace is restored, Master Yoda arrives at the Tenoo festival. He is accompanied by three new younglings, marking a hopeful new beginning. In a meaningful moment, Kai Brightstar returns Yoda’s old lightsaber to him and thanks the Jedi Master. Kai comes to understand that Yoda’s purpose in sending them to Tenoo was not just to fight, but to learn deeper lessons about trust, friendship, and what it truly means to be a Jedi.
The season and series conclude with a special epilogue. This sequence, hinted at in the season trailer, shows a future where Kai, Lys, and Nubs have become Padawans. Lys pairs with Celesta, and Nubs pairs with Wes Vinik as their masters, continuing their Jedi training. In a moment celebrated by fans, it is revealed that Kai becomes the Padawan of Jedi Knight Bell Zettifar. The epilogue offers a satisfying and optimistic glimpse into the next chapter of these characters’ lives in the High Republic era.

New Characters and the Season’s Simpler Story
Season 3 introduced several new faces alongside the villain Rek Minuu. The young Jedi befriend Dotti, a local shop owner skilled at fixing droids. They also befriend a trio of new droid companions: Beepers, Dozer, and Gigi, who defect from Rek’s service and aid the heroes. Reviewers noted that this final season, at seven episodes, was shorter and more streamlined than previous ones, focusing on a clear, droid-centric story.
While the threat from Rek and Apexx was significant, the season also dedicated time to quieter adventures and character growth. Episodes saw the younglings helping alien musicians, returning to the planet Batuu, and even visiting Naboo, where they encountered a large colo claw fish. A major emotional highlight was the continued redemption of Taborr/Cyrus, who fully chooses to do good in a pivotal episode, solidifying one of the series’ best character journeys.
With its finale, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures completes its mission of introducing a young audience to the galaxy far, far away. It leaves its core charactersโKai, Lys, and Nubsโon a positive path, having learned that compassion and understanding can be more powerful than any weapon.
