Plot Details: What to Expect in Season 2

The story for the new season has been revealed. After successfully taking down the illegal loan-shark ring known as Smile Capital in Season 1, Geon-woo and Woo-jin will face a new, even more dangerous threat.

In Bloodhounds Season 2, the two young boxers will set their sights on an illicit international underground boxing league[reference:5].

Rain’s character, Baek Jeong, is the ruthless head of this shady boxing league. Described as a villain whose overwhelming strength can easily crush a boxing champion, Baek Jeong threatens to pull Geon-woo into the league’s corrupt business[reference:6]. This forces Geon-woo and Woo-jin to risk everything in a high-stakes fight that will push them to their absolute limits.

Production Background and Source Material

Bloodhounds is based on the popular Naver webtoon of the same name by Jeong Chan. The series is written and directed by Jason Kim[reference:7].

Netflix Korea officially confirmed the production of Bloodhounds Season 2 on January 16, 2024[reference:8]. The production involves Studio N and Ghost Studio, the same teams behind the first season.

The first season, which debuted on June 9, 2023, quickly became a global success, praised for its intense action sequences and the powerful chemistry between the two leads. The upcoming season aims to amplify that action and tension while introducing a fresh narrative challenge for the protagonists.
