The official trailer for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is here, confirming the return of a major hero and setting the stage for a brutal street war. The new season will start streaming on Disney+ on March 24, 2026. Fans got their first major look at the upcoming season with a trailer that brings Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones back into the fight against Vincent D’Onofrio’s Mayor Wilson Fisk.

Official Release Schedule and Streaming Details

The second season of Daredevil: Born Again will premiere exclusively on Disney+. The first episode will be available on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. New episodes are expected to be released weekly. The season will run for a total of eight episodes.

This date follows some behind-the-scenes shifts. In late 2025, a Disney media portal briefly listed a March 4, 2026 release date, but this was soon removed and replaced with a general “2026” notice. The final date of March 24 was confirmed with the trailer’s release.

Filming for the season was completed in July 2025, following a production period that began in February 2025. The show underwent significant creative changes after its initial development, which split an original 18-episode plan into the first season and this second season.

Season 2 Trailer Shows a City at War

The released trailer sets a dark tone for the new season. It shows New York City under the tight control of Mayor Wilson Fisk, who has unleashed an Anti-Vigilante Task Force (AVTF) to hunt down masked heroes. A missing person poster for Matt Murdock suggests he is in hiding, while his alter ego, Daredevil, continues to operate from the shadows.

The trailer’s most talked-about moment is the return of Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones. She is shown fighting alongside Daredevil, with her signature sarcasm on full display. In one scene, she tells an injured Matt Murdock, “I hope you can walk, because I’m not carrying you”. This marks Ritter’s first appearance in the main Marvel Cinematic Universe since her Netflix series ended in 2019.

Other key moments include a chilling shot of Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye smiling and winking after his escape from prison in Season 1. Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin is also shown in a boxing ring, facing off against an opponent, highlighting his physical threat.

Returning and New Cast Members

The core cast from the first season is returning. Charlie Cox once again stars as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, with Vincent D’Onofrio as the powerful Mayor Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.

They are joined by many returning faces from the first season and the original Netflix series:

  • Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page
  • Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson
  • Wilson Bethel as Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter/Bullseye
  • Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk
  • Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn
  • Michael Gandolfini as Daniel Blake

The highly anticipated addition is Krysten Ritter reprising her role as the super-strong private investigator Jessica Jones. Ritter noted that returning to the role felt natural, saying it was creatively fulfilling to contrast this performance with her other current projects.

New characters joining the fray include Matthew Lillard as a mysterious political figure called Mr. Charles, and Lili Taylor as Governor Marge McCaffrey, a political opponent to Fisk.

Story Context: Resistance and Rebellion

Season 2 picks up after the events of the first season, where Wilson Fisk consolidated power and declared war on vigilantes. With Fisk now the mayor, he uses the city’s resources to enforce his “Safer Streets Initiative,” an anti-vigilante policy.

Matt Murdock is described as becoming a “revolutionary and a rebel,” forming a resistance group to find a crack in Fisk’s armor. This group includes Karen Page and the newly arrived Jessica Jones. Jessica Jones joins the fight despite her usual aversion to team-ups, with producers stating she brings an “edginess and lightness” to the dynamic.

Executive producer Brad Winderbaum described Murdock’s mission, stating the character is “go[ing] up against the power of the city”.

The conflict expands beyond street-level brawls into the world of politics and international diplomacy, with new characters like Mr. Charles representing a different kind of threat to Fisk’s rule.
