The Cast and Characters of the New K-Drama
Kim Hyang Gi takes the lead role as Yeo Eui Ju. She plays a student who appears average in every way. She tries to keep a low profile at school. But at home, she secretly writes adult novels online. Despite her hard work, her stories barely get any readers. She is good at understanding other people’s feelings but has no luck with real romance.
Cha Hak Yeon, also known as N from the K-pop group VIXX, plays Ga Woo Su. He is a math teacher with a cold appearance and sharp eyes who rarely smiles. He comes from a family of famous mathematicians. He was a child prodigy who could calculate numbers before learning to speak. A serious incident almost made him lose his eyesight. This forced him to give up studying abroad and become a teacher instead.
Kim Jae Hyun from the rock band N.Flying plays Noh Da Ju. He is a Japanese teacher who speaks many languages. He is playful, sometimes mischievous, and brings energy to the school. He comes from a wealthy family and has been friends with Woo Su since elementary school. They argue about everything but truly care for each other like brothers.
Son Jeong Hyuk plays Jung Gi Jeon, a sports teacher. He used to be a luge athlete but had to retire because of a serious injury. He looks tough and masculine on the outside. But on the inside, he is clumsy and warm. This makes him very popular with students.
Kim Dong Gyu plays Yoon Dong Ju, a Korean language teacher. He is warm-hearted and innocent. Even though he is the oldest among the four teachers, he often gets mistaken for the youngest because of his baby face. He always speaks politely to students and never loses his temper.
The supporting cast includes Kim So Hee as Choi Go Ya, Eui Ju’s best friend for three years. Gladys Bay, a Singaporean actress, plays Jenny, an exchange student who brings positive energy everywhere she goes.
Singaporean actress Gladys Bay told Asia One about her character: “She’s a year two student and she loves K-pop and Korean culture, but beyond that, she’s very fun and carefree. And when she notices that her friends are in trouble, she goes the extra mile to help them out.”
Jang Jae Young has also joined the cast as Kim Dan Ji. She plays one of the four close friends who hang out with Yeo Eui Ju. Her character acts like a fast information hub, spreading news and rumors around the school faster than anyone else.
