The hit SBS K-drama My Royal Nemesis delivered its most emotionally devastating episode yet on June 12, 2026. The episode, which achieved a peak rating of 11.6%, secured the top spot in its time slot and ranked No. 1 among currently airing Friday-Saturday dramas. As the series approaches its finale, the stakes have never been higher for Kang Dan-sim (also inhabiting the body of struggling actress Shin Seo-ri, played by Lim Ji-yeon) and conglomerate heir Cha Se-gye (Heo Nam-jun).
The episode begins with Seo-ri lying unconscious following the harrowing car crash at the end of Episode 10. While trapped in a coma, her soul is forcibly pulled back to the Joseon era, where she finds herself trapped inside Dan-sim’s immobile body. Panicked, she cries out, “Am I trapped in this body?”
A Shaman’s Warning and a Painful Reunion
A shaman later explains that Kang’s life force hasn’t fully returned, which is why she remains unconscious in the present. During her time in a trance-like state, Kang continues to have intense visions about Seo-ri’s traumatic childhood, hinting that there are more secrets yet to be uncovered.
When Seo-ri finally wakes up, Cha Se-gye rushes to her side without hesitation. Overcome with emotion, he asks her, “Were you determined to make someone die?” The reunion is deeply moving for both characters. As Se-gye stays by Kang’s bedside, Grandma Nam thanks him for not leaving her alone, leading to an emotional moment where tears fall from his eyes.
Later, after bringing her home, Se-gye confesses his honest feelings, something he has rarely allowed himself to do. He says, “When I think that my unhappiness may spread to you, I feel so sorry. But I am a selfish person, so I cannot even imagine letting you go.” Overwhelmed by his vulnerability, Seo-ri replies, “You’re right, we’re broken. Broken things need fixing,” and kisses him.
The Heartbreaking Truth About Seo-ri’s Past
As Kang grows stronger, a shocking truth about the car accident that killed Seo-ri’s parents comes to light. The episode reveals that Seo-ri’s mother gave her sleeping pills before attempting to end the family’s lives. Seo-ri later woke up alone after the crash that killed both of her parents.
Adding another layer of betrayal, it is revealed that CEO Hong had known about the family’s plans beforehand but chose to remain silent. This traumatic revelation forces Kang to confront the depth of pain Seo-ri endured long before her soul entered the picture.
Mun-do’s Grip Tightens on Chail Group
While Kang is unconscious, the corporate war escalates dramatically. Choi Mun-do (Jang Seung-jo) wastes no time in taking advantage of the situation. After successfully orchestrating the car accident that injured Chairman Cha Dal-soo, he spreads allegations about harmful ingredients in Biojei products, causing a stock price crash.
Having already secured enough votes from the board members, Mun-do officially takes Chairman Cha Dal-soo’s seat. He also successfully pushes Se-gye out of the company.
Adding to Se-gye’s troubles, the police reveal that a nurse connected to the case has been killed, and Se-gye could be drawn into the investigation.
The Trojan Horse Strategy
Just when it seems Mun-do has won everything, an unexpected twist occurs. Mo Tae-hee (Chae Seo-an), Se-gye’s former fiancée, approaches Mun-do and proposes a collaboration on a major resort business, promising a significant premium if Mochang Group acquires Bio J’s shares.
Believing he has secured an even stronger position, Mun-do publicly announces the resort project at Chail Group’s anniversary ceremony. However, Tae-hee surprises him by bringing Cha Se-gye onto the stage and announcing that he will lead the task force for the project.
Se-gye declares, “The prodigal son is back.” When a shocked Mun-do demands to know what is happening, Se-gye replies, “I want to try that too. The Trojan horse. To catch a thief, you must first enter the thief’s den.” This counterattack leaves Mun-do stunned as the tables finally begin to turn against him.
Eun-a’s Deadly Betrayal
While Se-gye executes his plan, the episode’s most terrifying sequence unfolds elsewhere. Eun-a (Kim Gye-rim), someone Kang trusted, secretly hands Kang poisoned water and locks her inside a storage room after she loses consciousness.
As Kang begins to feel the effects, she shouts, “There’s someone here,” but no one comes. The situation triggers a terrifying memory of nearly dying with her family as a child. Extreme fear washes over her, and she collapses in the locked room.
Luckily, Baek Gwang-nam (Kim Min-seok) is waiting outside, wondering why his sister isn’t coming out. Eun-a tries to cover for her, saying, “I think she was talking to her boyfriend.” But Se-gye‘s concerns prove correct, and he arrives just in time to find Kang and embrace her.

“You Keep Making Me Want to Live”
The episode’s most powerful moment comes as Se-gye holds a shaken Kang in his arms. She breaks down completely, crying, “I thought I could easily discard something like a heart because I never had much to begin with, and I thought letting go would be easy. But you keep making me want to live. What should I do?”
Her words capture the emotional core of the entire series. Kang Dan-sim, a soul who has spent lifetimes believing she deserved nothing, finally admits that she wants to stay in this world—not because of duty or fate, but because of love.
