Hollywood star Robert Pattinson surprised fans with an unexpected appearance on the popular South Korean variety show Running Man. This exciting news comes as Pattinson is in South Korea promoting director Bong Joon Ho’s new film, Mickey 17.

A Chance Encounter Leads to TV Appearance

Robert Pattinson’s visit to South Korea was primarily focused on promoting Mickey 17. He attended a preview and press conference at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Seoul. Later, he was seen exploring the Seochon area. It was during this time that the Running Man production team and cast, who were filming nearby, encountered him.

This meeting was completely unplanned. Pattinson’s appearance on Running Man wasn’t part of his original schedule. However, due to the fortunate overlap in their locations, the opportunity arose for him to participate in the show. After some discussion, the production team decided to include the segment featuring Pattinson in an upcoming episode.

Air Date and Film Details

The episode featuring Robert Pattinson on Running Man is scheduled to air on February 9th.

Mickey 17, the film that brought Pattinson to South Korea, is directed by the acclaimed Bong Joon Ho, known for his work on Parasite (2019). The movie tells the story of Mickey, an “Expendable”—someone created to perform dangerous tasks. Each time Mickey dies, he is reprinted. The story takes an interesting turn when Mickey faces his 17th death and another version, Mickey 18, appears, assuming Mickey is no longer alive.

This film has garnered significant global attention, marking Bong Joon Ho’s first project since Parasite. Mickey 17 will premiere in South Korea on February 28th, followed by its worldwide release.
